New dillemma g35 vs RSX type S

i got an offer to trade my g35 for an acura rsx type s. my coupes a 03 the rsx is an 05. both mileage is 50k.

What car do you think is better overall? reliability, performance(price vs gain), fuel economy, handling, etc (i know its biased).

Also what car will do better in snow and if so is it a big difference?

Also my cars auto, the rsx is 6 speed. Think its a lot better?

any help would be appreciated.

I like both cars. I like the G a little more but I would sacrifice some power for better reliability, snow handling, and I do prefer manual trans usually.

I came from east coast and half the time i rather be in a fwd then a rwd in the snow. But after being in my friends 08' M3 sedan with a great set of winter tires, its not as bad as i thought it would be driving a rwd in the snow. I get around the same mileage on the RSX as i would on a G. Both cars i can get about 400 to a full tank. It depends on driving conditions and how you drive. I would not trade the G away. Reliability is only as good as how you take care of the car.

I dont get 400 per tank with the g. maybe 300. but theres always traffic here. reliabilty - true but im sure some cars are slightly better than others. I dont speed due to my job so thats not an issue. rwd vs fwd in snow, u dont think theres a big enough difference? and how about auto vs 6 speed

keep the g. even though an rsx has better reliability and is better in the snow cause of fwd, you will miss the power and the sexiness of the g!!!

The RSX is way more reliable. But the G is better looking.

Pick your poison.

I'd take the 05S over an auto G.

I wouldn't want the stigma associated with most RSX owners. Every one of them that pulls up next to me at a light wants to race. It's like they have something to prove. It's not hard to make it a mid 13 second car but they don't look that good. Plus - FWD FTL.

ive had both

If you want power and luxury g35 is your car...if you want something to use everyday id get the rsx. To me the RSX was a champ in the snow with good tires, and I could fit my entire room inside when I came back from university....

honestly i like both; its a toss up

yea this is pretty much what im thinking. right now I have a 2nd car so I dont drive the G much but when I move I cant take both with me so I need something practical.

I do understand the honda owner reputation thing but Im not out to cause trouble so I figure it shouldnt affect me.

as far as fwd vs rwd I do like rwd better but from my understanding fwd>rwd in winter. and ill only be able to afford 1 car there.

I also like it because it is roomy and does seem pretty parcitcal for an economical sports car. good for going to work everyday etc.

Ill really have to put some thought into this one...

ive had an 06 type S and an 04 g 6mt

i would definatly take a type s over an automatic g

if you dont mind the auto then honestly its a matter of preference, its not a clear cut G is so much better deal that the people here will tell you

the rsx is more economical, has more space, more mod friendly, but its fwd and a bit noisy, the G is a better cruiser.

people always talked about G's like they were such torque monsters when i had my rsx, but honestly the gearing is so short in the rsx that it isnt too much of a problem but as a side effect the rsx is screaming at 3900 rpms at 80 mph in 6th gear...idk i like both cars

there are ricer rsx owners, but g35 owners have a this irritating cockyness as if its the best car ever so as far as the comunities go I would probably say its a tie with the rsx people being a bit more amusing.

rsx has a great tranny(when it isnt broken) k20s can take a beating, although mine always burned oil...never had an engine problem aside from oil consumption in 70,000 miles, but i did blow up 2nd gear(i think it was a clutch adjustment issue) and my axles (wheel hop ftl)

rsx was a bit better in snow, but the g isnt awful with the right tires

idk i like both cars...i wouldn't mind having one of each, although I sort of liked my 2000 celica gt-s better then my rsx aside from the awful powerband

thanks hammerhead that was very informative and helpful.

which is more reliable? The space will also definitely help while moving etc.

I think you pretty much summed it up well and detailed.

Guess I will talk with the RSX owner and see where it goes from there.
