05 black g35 sedan 16k
Hey guys can you please help me decide if this is a good price for this car:
Black 2005 g35 sedan Manual
Clean History
70k miles on the body
1500 miles on new engine replaced by Infiniti under TSB for oil consumption
1 year/12k mile warranty on engine
Brand new brake pads
Resurfaced rotors
New stage 2 clutch installed same time as engine
AC recharged
Exterior 9.5/10
Interior 10/10
Tires are the only thing that will need to be changed soon.
Seller is asking 16k special price for me before he raised it back up to $17800.

Sound like a really good deal to me. 70K miles on the body doesn't really mean anything to me if you give it a 9.5 and 10 for ext and interior. So the only thing that was a concern was the engine but since its practically brand new there's nothing to worry about. I'd grab it and run, i traded in my 05x with 75k miles on both body and engine for 13k. I like the deal, looks good to me.
Oh I see.
Car resale value is generally like real estate value - it's pretty much local to where you are. I'd look at KBB, autotrader, black book value, and other appraisal tools to see if that 16k is in line around your region.
FYI, in this thread two other members were/are selling similiar 2005 6MTs as well:
https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-car...ort-sedan.html
One sold for $14.7k in Ohio, and the other is selling for $16k OBO in Missouri.
Good luck in your search, OP.
Ok so heres the prices I looked up for 2005 g35 sedan 70k miles
Edmunds: $14,426
KBB: $15,850
Autotrader: $15,850-$18,995
So even though KBB says value is $15,850 after taking into account the new engine, clutch and brakes makes $16,000 sounds like a good deal still doesn't it?

Could you do better? Probably.
Are you getting hosed? Doesn't look like it. Seems like a decent/fair price.
Just remember:
1. There's always another car out there
2. You can walk anytime
3. Get any used car you're going to buy inspected by a shop/mechanic
