Please give me some advice on this 2007 G35x

Hello everyone,

First post here. I've always loved looking at these cars and after test driving a couple, I fell in love even more. That's why I'm in some need of advice in case my judgment is clouded.

I'm looking at this 2007 G35x in my area. The price seems somewhat decent and I am getting a somewhat decent price on my trade. The only things that I am worried about is that the car is from the Long Island area (somehow I don't trust cars driven in NYC) - and also that it was listed as a Manufacturer's Vehicle when it was sold at the auction last.

Can you guys take a look at it and give me your honest opinion, based on what you see? I'm in no hurry to get a vehicle, so if this is not THE one, I can wait. All the cars in my area in this price level are 2006 and older, so I was attracted by the fact that it was 2007.

I was also considering bringing it to a local Infiniti dealer for an extensive inspection - is that something that would help put my mind at ease about the car's history or will they not be able to look at all the things that really matter? (I know it may sound like a stupid question, but...)

Your time and advice is greatly appreciated!

Never mind. Test drove the car last night. Rides like new, inside like new, but the outside left a lot to be desired. Scratches and swirl marks galore. Oh well. Pass.

Scratches and swirl marks can be removed with a good detail, if the scratches aren't too deep....

I wouldn't let paint quality be the deciding factor if it's a good price. Most paint imperfections can be removed by a good detailer other than deep scratches.

Citrus?

I thought that I had heard one time that cars that were owned by the "manufacture" could have been bought back by the auto maker as a lemon?
I don't know and don't want to slur any legit cars out there. Maybe this car wasn't bought back under the state lemon law?

Anyone else ever hear this before?

If you really like the car you should go for it (if it's not too late)

The black G35x that I bought for my wife close to a month ago had a few scratches and dings. The dealership gave me a price get touch-up paint and ding removal there. The price wasn't bad on it's own (like $175 for both I think) but as part of the deal I had them split the cost with me. The car now looks brand new. It has no swirls after I took it to the detail shop down the street and paid $20 for a full exterior wash and dry.
