Private seller, cash deal. What is a reasonable offer?

Two previous owners, clean carfax (no accidents) No major mods. Aftermarket high end exhaust forgot what kind. Interior is clean, has Navi. Exterior is ok has a small dimple dent on front fender and car got keyed on both doors not too deep. Existing warranty until 2012. Recently serviced new tires, brakes, and lube.

I'm in the middle of negotiations, hopefully will finalize and drive off tomorrow.

13k sounds pretty damn good. Offer 12,500, but 13k is reasonable. They don't get much cheaper...

 

Seems very cheap. What hes asking is what my base 05 sedan is worth trade in with 10k more miles.

I think i'd avoid that car like the plan.

It has been wrecked, it was a lemon, and its modded. All bad signs when looking for a car and okay if its one or the other, but not all three. I'd avoid.

 

Yes, definitely walking away from this one. I can't believe the kid said he was the second owner and no accidents. He's the fourth owner and car has frame damage and not to mention it's a lemon!

thats why it was 13k lol, if it was a clean one, would be around 15-18k range...

 

haha funny thing is i went to look at the car as well. i offered him 11k cash and he said yes. I almost couldn't believe it but then i also checked the carfax. him and his dad told me the same thing, "never been in an accident, 2nd owner clean title and carfax" he even said we could take it to the dealer for inspection. people are dumb these days, things like this you cannot hide.

 

Yeah, the price definitely sounded too good to be true. You don't want that unless you're really looking for a deal and prepared for fixing problems in the future. You would also have trouble reselling that.

 

Holy crap.. Yeah stay away from that like your life depends on it. Its going to be crap on wheels. As far a resale, I dont know if I would let someone give me a car with that history
