Buying a G35x, have a question..

New forum member here, I've done about an hours worth of searching to avoid reposting, couldn't find anything so here we go.

I work in Volvo sales and we traded an 08 G35x in 2 weeks ago, I took it to grab lunch and soon after decided that I need to own one. Managers are not happy. At any rate...

I'm sure it'll be an 07, and I've found a gorgeous Gray/Black premium that I want, but it has the wood trim and I'm not a fan! Our trade has the brushed silver that I really like. What's the word on exchanging the wood dash for the Brushed aluminum?

Any help you can give me would appreciated guys, nice forum!

You would have to buy all the aluminum trims in the car and replace them each separately. I prefer the wood trim because it makes the interior of the car look warmer. It is also more expensive The aluminum looks kind of bland with the rest of the dash. To each his own, I guess.

I am sure it can be done...have not run across anyone who had swapped factory for factory. There are a few people who have sent it out to have it "dipped" with several pattern types or have wrapped it themselves with a carbon fiber type fabric.

I will say the wood is very rare in the 07-09, as it was an option and doesnt really look like the wood in other luxury marques. Interesting you found one with it but dont want it...usually it is the other way around.

Well, it's bought..car will be here in an hour. I'll drive it for a bit with the wood dash and see if it grows on me. If it doesn't it sounds like there's plenty of fans that will trade me their brushed pieces for the wood...

I bet it will. If it doesnt do a search on here and find where several members have sent the pieces out to be recoated in something different. Maybe someone will chime in with the link to a post...

anyone know how well the aluminum stays on the doors compared to the wood? I have the wood trim package on my 07' G35X and one of the veneers is coming loose. Def gotta bring it back to the dealer to have them replace it or stick it back on.
