G35 for 6K

Hey guys, I like to introduce myself I am new here currently own a 3ES Lexus. I am looking for something more sportier but my dad disapprove coupes; so basically I came down to two choices. a Lexus IS or a G35 Sedan. One day I was cruising around and and I saw this 04' G35 for 5,500 my eyes was like I was like did he made a mistake on the tag? Then when I saw the mileage posted on the site it was pretty high 190,000.

The website of the car

What is your thought on it? how long do you think it was last for lol?

My ES has a new engine installed so it has ~6,xxx mileage and ~212,xxx on the body.

here is my opinion:
G35 is not as reliable as any Lexus. Overall it is a great but with small problems here and there. If you are not comfortable to work with cars, don't have time, and money. G35 might not be your best choice.

Even if you were a mechanic buying any vehicle with that kinda mileage isn't a great choice. It might cost you the purchase price the first year just to keep it running....

I would never buy a car with that many miles. With nearly 200K on the clock, it's a $2000-3000 car in my opinion tops. Anything more than that and you might as well spend a few grand more and get one with less miles.

I own an '06 G35x and '07 IS250 AWD....the Lexus is the more reliable vehicle. Since purchase of both, the IS has never been in for service, while the G35 has been in for warranty claims 5 times and I think i now have failing front wheel bearings.

If you spend a few K more you can get one with about 100k less miles.

that car would be a good deal at $3500-4000 but 6k is rather a gamble.

with that much milage indeed you would put just as much money into it as getting one with lower miles and a lot less headache

I dont think the car is a good deal REGARDLESS if you get a "good deal".... that car is probably a ticking time bomb waiting to die. You don't want to constantly have to worry about "would my car start today" "would my car die on me on the highway for this 50 mile trip". Bringing this car to the mechanic within the a few month IF not the first month would almost be expected. DONT get it!! go to an auction and with $6k you could pick up a decent car with less miles than that... a 4th gen GTI would run you around $7k with 80-90k miles... **** you prob get a 03-05 g35 for $8k there with half the miles of that car you're looking at

Stick with the Lexus, save the money and buy a new G. G's are great but are prone to many "small problems"
