vendors/different prices
vendors/different prices
It seems like some vendors here have different price every time I pm them for quote. what's going on? do one of fellow forum members experience the same situation? or is it just me who's getting it all wrong?
No price is set in stone, market fluctuations can create price increases or decreases. The question is why are you pming the same vendor for the same price multiple times? Maybe you should shop when you are ready to shop.
I see. and I know the vendor's pricing here is cheaper than the other websites.
As I was getting my funds available to buy parts I asked several vendors 3~4 days before the transfer was complete. Now I ask, it's 100 more expensive. Not trying to judge anyone. Everybody's trying to get their heads up especially in a recession like this. I understand they have to make money too. Just out of curiosity I thought I'd ask.

yes, I'm currently working things out with vendors. and yes, I was trying to dig things around as I shop to get the best price as a buyer. I just wanted to get opinion from fellow members here on the forum since I'm new and don't know much about how things work around here. If I' wanted to bring it up and make it a big issue, I'd bring up the name of the vendors as well. Thank you all for sharing your opinion
Why do you ask them for a quote more than once?
If you ever got a quote from ANYBODY you would realize that in the fine print it will always say "prices subject to change without notice"
If you want it for the price they originally quoted, then quote their message and send them that. But don't expect to be able to take a quote from 6 months ago and still have it has a valid price.

Most of the vendors (not all, but most) will usually honor previously quoted prices, as long as the circumstances have not changed. They want to compete for your business too, and that's why some offer to beat and other advertised price, even their own. Granted, if it was say... a year ago that you priced something and are now ready to buy, expect the price to fluctuate due to the weather, but if it's been a few weeks or a month, and you are really ready to buy, I'd just ask them if they would honor the price which was previously quoted. Just remember, that even vendors are consumers too and they understand that you are just trying to get the best deal available.
