autocheck is definately better, but putting the car up on a lift and having a trusted mechanic go over it is the best thing.

I've had things come up on autocheck that didn't come up on carfax but it could go either way. Just my experience

Geez, It sounds like we don't have any reliable methods to verify used cars anymore. This really makes me worry because i'm kinda in the market for another car but i'm not sure if i should buy a used or new.

First to answer your question. Go with Autocheck and only use it to narrow your car search so you don't waist time. After you are sure about the car you want YOU MUST set aside 90 bucks and take it in for an inspection at a dealer or mechanic you trust. Have them look for signs of a accident. Alignment issues etc... Hell if carmax can tell if a car has been repainted I'm sure a dealer shop or good independent shop can.

In my opinion there is NO reason to buy used at this time. Buy new or Lease. I have NEVER leased before but there is NO way in hell I'm paying 25k for an 07 -08 g35 sedan with 60k miles no warranty when I can Lease and have around the same payment without all the used car hassle and maintenance worry. Right now you can get a g25 lease for $319 or a G37 Lease for $379. Thats a DAMN good deal.
