Looking at buying a '08 G37S - need some pointers

First post here... but as the title says I'm looking to buy a car and sort of have my heart set on a G37S w/6 speed standard. With my budget I'm looking at a '08 and the ones I've seen have about 50,000 to 70,000km (so approx. 30,000 to 45,000mi roughly).

I've been trying to cram in as much reading as I can. It started out yesterday as entertaining getting a new car and now I'm ready to make a down payment!! OK I've been thinking of a new car for over a year so I'm not that rash but I just got the bug recently. I've been trying to find what I can on reliability issues and thankfully not much has turned up except maybe some notorious rattling issues but that doesn't seem like a big deal and is probably fixed fairly easily.

I need kind of a quick education on what I should be looking for when I go to look at one - besides the usual used car stuff. Anything specific I should be looking into? I just want to avoid getting the car home and find out the maintenance schedule says that half the motor needs to rebuilt at 80k. Yeah I know that's an exaggeration but I don't want any surprises. As a side note I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy from a Nissan/Infiniti dealership. Initial cost will be a bit higher but at least here in Canada they have a 2 year 40k power train warranty attached to their used cars which I like.

I don't mind doing my own homework, I'm just hoping someone could give me a little direction so I can get it done faster.

Thanks for any help!
Ryan

The worst thing you can do is rush yourself into a big decision like buying a car. Just be patient, read and make sure you know the ins and outs of the deal before you take it home.
