Infiniti?

Hi fellas my name is Sylvain I'm new on the forum. I'm 22 years old and I moved from France to Ohio about 6 months ago.

I would like you guys to tell me why do you drive a g35? Where I use to live I've seen just a few Infinitis so i don't know much about them. I'm actually saving money to buy a cool car and I test drove a g35 2 days ago and I loved it. I'd like you to tell me the pros and cons of the car. I don't know if there is any difference (engine, options...) between the sedan and the coupe but i'm focusing on the coupe!

Thanks!

PS : my budget will be arround 10.000 and 15.000$ so I think I'm talking about 2003-2006 model

If you are looking at either an 04 or 05 coupe their is no difference in the engine if they are both automatic transmissions with 280 hp and 270 pounds of torque. But, if both the 04 (280 hp and 260 Torque) and 05 coupes are manual transmissions, the 05 coupe will have the Rev-up engine (298 hp and 260 torque). Also, on the 05 coupe the interior was updated.

I'm sure you can find a good 04 or 05 coupe if you search around a bit in your area.

I'll dig up more information for you.

All right thanks dude yes I know exactly what I want if I'm going for Infiniti. I'll probably fosu more on the 05 now I know that. I have a question, it may sounds stupid but I'd like to know if those rims come with a special year or it was just the option. What can I expect for maintence costs? I take good care of my cars but compared to any average car? Is insurance crazy?

All right man. What is a little bit high for you? Are we talking 150 per month or 300?

Anything over $1200 is too much.

Look for 05+ models, they have better interior. If you can find a 06+ you will also get the upgraded headlights. The wheels you posted were an option on some models but you can always buy a set on this forum. They are nice light wheels.
The car is not too expensive to keep up. Minor things might break, like window motors, but these cars are really reliable so you shouldn't have major issues. Insurance will depend on the coverage you choose, keep in mind that its a sports car and you are still young so the rates will be high for you.

You mean 1200 a year? Thanks Polishtrust so what you're telling me is choosing a car more recent but with more miles on it? Can I expect going to 200,000 miles easily with this car? And yes I just looked up the difference between the 04 and the 05 interior there's no question about it i'm going on 05 this is sweet.

Insurance is definitely more, all depends on your history obv age, etc. also being foreign it might be considered a lapse of coverage for the next 6months or so and if that's the case insurance is going to muff you around hard so figure that out. I have an 05 coupe that I bought at 74k miles for $9,000 granted the individual was getting it repossessed the next day so I got extremely lucky but there's deals out there you've just gotta keep your eyes open and don't get too anxious also having the cash ready to go is another necessity. To give you an idea for insurance rates, I'm 20 with 3 infractions on my record and I pay 240/monthly thru geico which is generally a cheaper ins provider. Totally worth it in my eyes I love my vehicle. It's also my daily driver so gas is another big expense to take into consideration. You can read and read all you want about average mpg and whatnot. I just figured getting 18mpg on average and saw how it worked into my budget. As far as the wheels go I could be wrong but those are upgraded 19" OEM rays which aren't terribly expensive in general even if ur ride doesn't come with them. (You can probably pick up a full set with newer tires for $1000) so figure that into ur costs if you have to have them, and if the car your buying outweighs the price of the wheels. Hope this helps!

I would definitely recommend 05+, 06+ if you can for the better headlights and taillights imo. Yes, our cars can definitely rack up tons of miles on these cars if you take care of them. Only thing to keep in mind is the increased price of the premium gas and tires, but other than that it's basically standard maintenance costs.
