Need some tips from the pros

Hey everybody, I've always wanted a "G" I joined this site back in June of 2008 and haven't been on since. (I can't believe I remembered my password) Anyway, the years have treated me good and I've been driving my Prelude since 1999 and she is finally on her last leg. I have two other "high hp toys" in the garage but now I need to replace my DD and what better than a G?! So to keep this short I have looked at the 03-05 vs 06-07 sticky and various other threads before I posted this so don't tell me to use the search button lol. I've looked through the market place and there are some really sexy cars there but as much as I'd love to have one of those, I'm kinda looking for more of a stock vehicle. Basically I'm just wondering if there is any advice you guys/girls can give me. I like the body of the G35 more than the G37 but obviously the interior of the 37 to the 35. (if only I could have that swap) I was thinking about a 05-07. I'm thinking about picking one up very soon and was just wondering if there is anything I should lookout for or any advice you all can give me. Coupe is a must and again I already have fast toys so would prefer an unmolested G Thanks in advance!!!

Well my advice would to have caution if looking for an 05 with the rev-up motor. They tend to have issues with oil consumption so if you look through the 05, be sure to find one that has been repaired or replaced.

Also, my vote goes to the 06/07 for the better lights and front bumper. Those little things really help to make the coupe look sharper. Just my $.02

Thank you! I agree on the lights and bumper on the 06-07 but didn't know about the oil issues on the 05, thats the kind of thing I need to know. Thank you for the reply.

Since you're looking for a DD you need the find the newest, lowest mileage, coupe you can afford. So look for an '07 with less than 40K miles on her clock at a reasonable price. What's your realistic price range?

The oil consumption affects some of the 05-07 cars with the 6 speed manual transmission (rev-up motors). It doesn't happen to all of them but is something to be aware of. Take Gary's advice and get the newest, lowest mileage car you can afford that has been well taken care of. Any Infiniti dealer can pull up maintenance records done at any Infiniti dealer in North America with the car's VIN, and have a trusted mechanic check out any car you are seriously looking at.

First sorry to mod that moved this thread I didn't really look and just assumed since that section said "Discussion about the 1st Generation V35 G35 Coupe" it was the right place.

Yes, Gary that is kinda what I'm looking for. I know it may be kinda hard but I am looking for lets say a 07 with 40k or less miles and I guess my price range depending on the condition would be tops around 22-25k

I know the price will obviously go up but let me just ask, would it just be a better choice to look at some 08 G37s?
