Possible new 05 g35x sedan owner

Hello all,
A friend of mine purchased an 05 g35x new and I have been lusting after it ever since. I am a former 83 280zx gl owner and it was my favorite car that I have ever owned. The g35 reminds me so much of it accept for the 4 doors.

He is trading it in for a new car and has asked if I want to purchase it for the trade in value minus a couple of small repairs like a small cut it the drivers seat side and a couple of bad tires. There are some small scratches and the window on the drivers side goes up and then comes back down half way. The only other small issue is the drivers arm rest hand hold leatherette wrap is pealing off

He wants $12,500 for it. It only has 44,000 miles and is the premium package with the Bose stereo and the key fob.

Wht do you guys think. I do love this ride.

I was also wondering if the sedan with the awd was fun for local track days. I have been wanting to do that for a while but have not had a suitable vehicle.

Let me know what you think.

Ray

I think $12.5K is a lot.

The miles are a bonus, but that's coupe money right there

$10-11K seems more realistic to me

Thanks mustang5L5. I was thinking the same thing. I like the car and he is a friend but I do not want to over pay for something I can pick up used from a dealer that has been gone through.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
As far as a track car, the G's a heavy pig and unless you've done some suspension mods like sway bars I wouldn't expect great results. Still might be fun for grins though.

I find it pushes a bit in the turns. I've AutoXed many times before and a G35x would not be my first choice.
