Didn't look at the speedo, really, but it didn't feel like there should have been any slip. I was coasting, too, not accelerating...

It's just the VDC traction control system kicking in because it detected wheelspin on one of your tires. My bet is that the inside edges of the front tires are worn bald. That's a common issue with our cars due to the aggressive camber setup on the front end. All G35 with stock control arms have this problem with accelerated inner edge tire wear on the front tires. Take a look at that before you make an offer on the car and make sure that you have the dealership put new tires on the front end prior to your purchase if they're worn. It could also be that someone put a lower quality pair of tires on the front or possibly the tires are really old, hard and dry-rotted.

yeah driving rwd is completely different from fwd and awd. It does require a little more thinking before entering the corners, but its also more fun. The engine has a lot of torque for a NA v6, so you can light up the tires.

You probably put too much throttle before the apex or you went into the turn too quick. Most people who grew up driving fwd or awd usually just goes really fast into the corner and just trail brake to compensate if they went in too fast.

i would try to get a 06-07 if you can afford it. The interior and hids are much nicer.

Bought the car. Somehow with the traction control off, the problem only happened once during the final test drive. Having driven it a bit more extensively, though, I can't help but think something isn't right with it.

This only happens on one side of the car (weight on the left front wheel).

Earlier, I got the slip light to come on changing lanes a little quickly. Definitely not normal. It also feels wobbly going 80+ ... guess I'll have to take the thing in and hope it isn't expensive.

Also discovered it has the door lock actuator issue - grr. Guess that's what I get for buying a 10 year old car

Check your tires and alignment. Make sure your brake fluid is full and clean.

I was an idiot and trusted the Mercedes dealership who looked into the issue for me with the assistance of their partnering Infiniti dealership -- guess I should have known better. Going to get alignment checked out next week.
