2003 Coupe test drive -- weird issue cornering -- should I buy?

Test drove a G35 Coupe this evening, immaculate condition, 87k miles, reputable car dealer (hah!). The only odd thing that happened during the test drive happened while getting onto the freeway, in a long right hand curve. I entered the turn at a somewhat spirited (though not tire screeching spirited) speed, and all of a sudden, it felt like the front left wheel (outside of the turn) locked up.

A light on the dash came on between the two dials, though not long enough for me to read it.

Any ideas what I'm looking at here? Should I stay clear of this car?

Probably the "SLIP" light. comes on bright and center between the speedo and tach. I've noticed in mine that if I drive aggressively and forget to turn off the VDC, it tends to get angry and screw with the ABS and cut power, etc.

If the SLIP light flashed and went away again after the car tried to correct whatever anomaly it detected and there is no SES light or anything than its just doing what its supposed to.

Somewhat spirited? LOL You mean you were hauling azz on this on ramp and the traction control gave you a warning? Maybe you were going too fast or the car has the wrong size tires on it which will also cause the warning. If this G is super clean and you get a positive CARFAX have Nissan check it out before buying it.

So... I was able to take the same onramp at slightly higher speed in my girlfriends Toyota RAV4... Is the traction control really that aggressive on these cars? Car was definitely nowhere close to losing traction, either...

Wheel and tire combo on the car is? read Gary's post again, if it's the VDC buzz kill then any "aftermarket" setups if done in correctly can amplify the VDC's hold on the car

Definitely OEM wheels, didn't check tires. Here's the car:

its the traction control...the computer thought you were gonna kill yourself so slowed you down. you can turn it off using the bottom left button.

Dealer confirmed it is indeed the traction control. Very weird, felt really premature to me.

As others said it the VDC detecting a slip. Depending on your budget i'd go for an 06 or 07 G35c.
