I'm a previous 1999 sc300 owner who is looking to move over to the g35. Although the sc300 is a great car with an affordable 1jz swap option or na-t, they are old and becoming more affordable meaning they are rare to find clean, maintained, and in a 5spd.

***I want your guy's opinion on how much you would offer.*** I've found a clean title g35 6mt FL car. Will be checking it out and seller has stated everything works except for windows actuators from what I've been told... will obviously look more in depth when there. It's black on black with brembo brakes, aftermarket double din touch screen dvd/nav.

My main concern is the high mileage which is 177k miles... But am used to high mileage jdm cars (first car was a ls400 with +300k miles). I also know the vq is a very reliable solid engine... Future plans if I do buy would be minor weight reduction, aftermarket seats, i/h/e. Something simple, fit around corners, and reliable and daily driven. No forced induction in sight.

So.....do you think $5k is a decent price for a 03 black/black clean title 6mt? Were about a grand shy away from each other

 

At 177K, be prepared to replace more than window motors. As long as it's clean enough for your taste, $4500 is good I guess.

 

Have any first hand experiences? Suspension/drivetrain bushings are almost a given. I will be doing most maintenance. repairs

Plenty of threads out there with maintenance advice for high mileage G's. Do some thread surfing and I'm sure you'll find 99% of your answers

 

If the motor and transmission are solid the $4500 would be a steal, especially since you stated you'd be doing most of the work yourself.

Stay away from headers unless you are doing a cam swap or going FI. The gains are just not worth the expense (or time if you're going to swap them yourself).

 

Honestly I think $5k is reasonable given no suspension/drivetrain problems present, service records, clean title, no accidents, 6mt, black on black... you can't find anything near as good unless you go for a s2k

I just gotta convince myself I need it, currently have a dd... But the G would be my dd in about 10 months. During those 10 months I would prob focus on maintenance.
