G35 or 335i sports coupe, coming from a hyundai
I know this topic has been discussed and here's what I have gathered:
G35 Coupe:
More reliable/lower costs
Better looking
BMW 335i:
Faster
Better "feel"
Now my question is, as a 23 year old coming from a paid off 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 sedan looking for a sports car, what is the better option in your opinion?
Additionally, what is the best year G35 to get, for the 335i I would go 2007 as it is the least expensive. Either car will obviously be a noticeable upgrade, what do you guys think?
I also know the 335i can be easily chipped for more power, does the G35 coupe have any similar upgrades?
Thanks guys

The cost is roughly 35% more for the Beamer. I know its faster, and I do want it, but is the extra cost including increased maintenance and repair costs for the models I'm looking at worth it?
Will the G35 satisfy my need for speed or is the 335i simply the better route?? thanks for your reply

oh definitely a 2008 BMW 335i. They have a lot of expensive problems during the 4yr/50K warranty but after they are broken in they are incredibly reliable until 200K. See the problem is, people just think they can just forget to change the oil like on a camry which causes all the reliability issues. BMWs oil change interval is every 10,000 miles so you have to be vigilante. Even if something does goes wrong, you can just put it on a credit card and the minimum payment is pretty low. Best value imo in the automotive world is a fresh out of warranty BMW. Enjoy in good health!

The 335i isn't all that great
For me the only way I'm going to choose a 335i over a G35 is it has to be an "M". Yes the 335i may be more responsive and handle better but it also comes with a higher price tag which would justify better handling, better performance but, after doing some mods to a "G's" suspension, and some performance mods the "G" should perform on par with the 335i. Also their is the maintenance issues. It cost a lot less to keep a "G" maintained. I have an 05 with well over 118,000 miles and I love the heck out of it and I haven't finished modding it yet. Bottom line is, it's your money. You can spend the money on the "G" and have money left over for a pretty nice amount of mods, or you can get the 335i and have a little bit of money left over for a few mods not to mention maintenance time. Anyway, good luck with your purchase and enjoy. All Hail The "G".
