Question Buying A G35 To Fix Up Need Advice

Iv'e been looking alot into G35's lately and one custom G35 really caught my eye. I was thinking would it be smart to buy a 04-06 G35 for around 6k . Probably plan on getting one with the body all messed up since i plan on changing the whole body kit to the custom Veilside body Kit and also with very high miles since I plan on changing the engine and transmission. Also going to add pain job and probably fix little things here and there. The Body Kit is around 4k (not sure yet) and the engine and transmission should be around 2k for both. So basically i would have a salvaged Infiniti G35 with a 80k Engine swap and transmission. Is this a good move or not? I would appreciate everyone's opinions thanks.

P.S. If anyone has gotten a Custom Veilside Body Kit On their car i would also apprecite any advice or tips .

Up to you what you spend your money on. If this is a project you want to undertake long-term, than go for it.

However, if this is a short term project that you will sell within a few years of completeing, what you'll have is a highly-modified, high-mileage chassis with a salvage title. You won't get your money back at all.

Do you have the money or skills to do it? Is it something you want to do? If you can answer yes to both questions, then go for it.

Also talk to some local shops, it might be "more affordable" to put this body kit on then you think.

This is a project car that i plan on having for many years. If it reaches its miles then ill do another engine swap since its somewhat of a "dream car" that I can afford lol .

My pops is somewhat experienced at changing body kits BUT this one looks a little difficult so i might consider taking it to a shop. Around how much is the usual price. I know theres different prices everywhere but i want like a common number so I now around what kind of numbers im looking at for the body kit.

That is the Fortune kit. It alone costs 5k plus shipping. Plus you will need custom rims/tires 3-5k and full body/paint 2k-5k. Total you could be looking in the 10-15k range depending on quality.

That isnt even scratching the surface of why the car has salvage title. To buy it and do everything you want, it will be in the 20k range.

To be honest, I think you should have a more realistic plan.

I've done the math and know I'm going to spend around 20k in the long run so I am well aware of it. I plan on paying everything off in a year and a half sinec right now im using a Honda. Im just going to be building it up little by little . Thank you for your advice

Dont ever go into major project expecting to do little by little. Something will always come up and it wont get finished.

Also 20k is alot to drop on a slow high milage car. It will never be worth anywhere near what you invest. I suggest to take some time and reevaluate the plan. Maybe find a kit that isnt so involved, maybe find a lower milage decent shape car, maybe use the money as a down payment for a house, ect.

Here you go. Buy this one instead.

Same 20k, but you get a better car, non salvage title, works done, less miles, and more power.
