I wouldn't worry too much about "clunking" chances are you'll need some front end bushings replaced...actually ask if they've been replaced because that's another haggling point because chances are they're worn out and need replacing. There's really not many things to look out for just make sure to check all the electronics before purchase (seat motors, window motors, stereo AND cd player, and ask if it's had Oil Consumption issues because all of those can help negotiate the price down if there are any issues

 

Also the cosmetic damage is easily $1k worth of damage I'm not sure what the book value of that car would be without checking but hopefully you can get them down, I'd shoot for $8k if you've got cash I bet they'll take it in that condition

 

OP (Asosa), we are joking with you about the oil situation, at least I hope. If a car's oil was not changed for that many miles the engine would have blown up from lack of lubrication.

If you want to talk about the imperfections, bring down the price by showing cost to repair said items by searching online at reputable repair shops.

9000 would be a better deal then I found

Went back today and talked to the owner of the dealer, he didn't believe me when I told him one of his associates told me 9500 for the G, he said he wouldn't go any lower than 9500, should I get it or not?

 

Go back & deal with the original salesperson to see if you can get it for less. At the end of the day if you're going to finance it $500 = about $10/mo difference in monthly payments.

9k to 9.5k is a pretty good price if the car is in average condition.

 

The owner let me speak on the phone with the guy, tried my best saying that the dings in the bumper and damage on the front rims will cost 1k to fix easily but he wouldn't budge any lower. Should I just go in with $9000 and tell them I'll take it off the lot for no more than 9 or just pay the extra 500?

 

Look at edmunds.com and add in options to see fair price- it's a bit high. You can get one for that price with no accidents and lower miles at www.autotrader.com - also a good guide to what is out there and for how much.

 

I checked the value on a ton of websites, price including body condition, mileage and vehicle accident history as well as features ranged anywhere from like 8-10k

 

Doubt they will budge because G35 coupes tend to move quick off dealer lots. As the pricing comes down, lots of young HS kids want them. The dealer knows how these cars move so he'll be firm.

If you want this car, i would say you'll need to pay the $500 more. Is that worth it to you? It's about $10/month more on your payment if you finance.

I guess you need to decide would you be happy with this car after all the newness wears off and you have a car with cosmetic issues.

 

What kind of cosmetic issues are you referring to? I just want the car because I believe it's one of the best looking vehicles out there and you don't see them out a lot. I just want it for the looks. I don't intend in modding the engine and stuff. Maybe a Z tube and minor stuff but it's mainly for looks.

 

****. 9K? damn if I found a car here for that price there was a reason to not buy it. Here the going rate is 12-14K for 05/06. BTW carfax did not report the major accident on my last car which should have been totaled if it was dealt through insurance.

This is one of the more popular sports coupe that I see on the road near me and a lot are daily's as well. Most are auto vs manual here due to the major traffic.

 

Over here in Indianapolis I rarely see them. And if I do, a majority are sedans. G37 sedans are a lot more common here, coupes are even rarer. Should I just stop bickering and just get it? I don't see accident damage other than the dings on the bumper and the scraped front rims.

Those dings in the bumper don't really bother me, I actually didn't notice until I examined closely. Should I just purchase it? I feel like I'm stalling a lot lol
