Thoughts on 3 G35s for purchase
Thoughts on 3 G35s for purchase
This is probably unanswerable --or rather the answer is "whichever has been best maintained"-- but if anybody has any thoughts for a wannabe G35 coupe owner, I'd greatly appreciate your chiming in.
Car 1: 2005, 49k miles, $11,950 - AT, Sport package (19"wheels), Aero package, Navigation, Sunroof. 2 owners; second since 2008. Scuffed front bumper, but very clean other than that.
Car 2: 2005, 37k miles, $14,995 - AT, Spoiler, 18" wheels, Bose, Sunroof. 1 Owner. Ultra clean looking.
Car 3: 2005, 19.5k miles, $16,752 - AT, 17" wheels, Sunroof, Navigation. Ultra clean looking.
I apologize in advance for these all being AT. I know nobody favors it, but too much stop and go for me to row the thing around
. Maintenance? Damned if I know. Any of them would be checked out before purchase, so I guess what I'm asking is thoughts about relative value. #1 for instance: only 12 grand, nicely set up, but a little (just a little) haggard looking compared to the other two and 12k more miles than one and almost 20k more miles than the other. Would you pay $3k to save 12k miles? $4.8k to save 20k miles. Anything else jump out at you? Thanks again.

Blah i hate nav on cars. It seems so redundant. I use my phone for 5 seconds and i can figure out where i need to go. Or a cheap external unit. No need to take up space and money integrating a system thatll get outdated in a few years... /end rant
I'd say its between 1 and 2, but I'm leaning toward 1 a little more because of the sport package. Color would also be a factor for me, like red. No way in hell I'd buy a red G, I can't believe I;m saying this but IMO, it is ugly. Idk if color matters to you but I'd say stay away from red lol just my 2¢ about color
Thinking it through even more, I'd say 1. You get the Sport and Aero Package and the sexy 19s. Plus, my favorite, no spoiler!! So you could add the sexy duckbill lip on the bumper instead. It's also the cheapest! I'd test drive it and if it drives great, I'd buy it.

Option 1
That's still pretty low miles. If this is going to be a daily driver, there's no point paying a premium for the low mileage of option 3 when it looks to be a base model car.
Option 2 is considerable, but the 10K mile difference between option 1 isn't that much.
Overall, i'd go 1. Cheaper car, more available options. Even though you don't want Navi (I have it and agree it's outdated and use my iphone more) it will hold a little better resale value and look more appealing in the future when you sell the car. Listing "Fully loaded with Navi" tends to catch more people's eyes.
Putting all that aside, do your homework and inspect the cars and pass if it looks abused or poorly maintained. 50K miles is still low enough to correct some maintainence issues

Agreed
Thanks for all the input. Yep, daily driver; I'm a one car guy. I'm kinda leaning toward # 1 as well, although I'd love it if it were minus the nav and plus the better audio system (if you can call anything Bose makes as "better".) I can do a lot of stuff in terms of any necessary service and fun upgrades for three grand. We'll see how it checks out.
The NAV does have other features like fuel economy, a setable maintainence interval, distance to empty, etc that are not available on the non-NAV G35.
I wouldn't ever recommend buying a car just for these features, but having navigation in the car isn't the end of the world.
I pretty much just use mine for fuel econony meter and to remind me to change my oil
