Hi all,

I am looking into trading my 05 g35x. I haven't stopped by the dealer but this Infiniti dealer quoted me a trade value between 6,000 to 8,000. I gave them the details and sent a few pics. Car has under 54k miles, good condition, never been in accident and always garaged. Does that trade value seem low?

Here is a pic of my car.

thats prob about right. they will give you no where near what it is valued at. if you have the time you can sell it yourself to get a bit more but otherwise that is about right.

That sounds right for trade in. I just got $12,100 from a car buying company for my 07 coupe with every option and 58k miles.

Did you accept that!?! From a dealer trade in that's phenomenal.

Seems very low.

I was just quoted $11,000 for a trade in. I have a 05 G35x with about 55K miles.

I did. It wasn't really a dealership by traditional standards. They emailed me on craigslist and said they wanted to buy it. He said he would have given me more if it weren't for the unpopular color and apparently it had body work done that carmax had concealed from me 4.5 years ago.

Yeah part of me thinks I should have just done it on the spot but on the other hand they were trying to get me to buy a $45K M3. It's a local smaller exotic car dealer here in Chicago.

The NADA is ranging from dealer trades from $9.7K low - $14K - Clean Retail- High. I imagine NYC dealer trades should not be too much different..

14K seems too high. Is your car fully loaded with options? Sparkle clean inside/out?

Different dealers use different books for quotes. The four I checked when I was in the market were Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, NADA and Black Book. The last one is more closely held, but if you google, you can find portals to the online calculator through credit union websites.

They'll all give you different numbers, occasionally wildly different, but more info can only help you with your assessment.

My car is pretty much as clean as a a 9 year old car could be.

$14K is definitely unrealistic and probably the listing price the dealer would use to sell.

$11K is what I would consider on the high side for a dealer trade. If I were to sell private party I would start at $13.5K.

I would look at NADA and also at autotrader at other 05 G35x's in your area to see what they are selling at and with what mileage.

Large Infiniti Dealer. I was looking at 2010+ G37x sedan's. In the end decided to keep my car for a little while longer (decided to remain debt free prior to purchase of another home)
