Oh, i know he didn't mention that until later.

For someone who is mechanically inclinded, that car could be a good deal. For $6K i'd buy it and fix everything myself because I can.

I just don't know the OP's mech ability. If it's minimal, i'd suggest spending another $2-3K more and getting a car in better shape

It sounds nice for price. Just when orig owner passes on bearing repair makes you wonder what else he didnt maintain. If bearings is all he didnt fix.you could make a profit fixing and selling it!
