tips on buying used 2005 g35 coupe

I found a nice looking 2005 coupe with 113,000 miles on it. Its at a dealership and they are asking $11,500. I know to look for the dull paint on the inside of the fenders, bumpers, ect. and to look for unchipped screws. Is there anything else I should look into? It has a carfax report, but from what Ive read those aren't always 100% correct, so I plan on taking it to a Nissan or Infinity dealership to get it checked out. Its the base package, but has some things from the previous owner such as a new radio, sub/amp, Bully dog GT tuner, and infinity logo ground affects from the door.

Appreciate any advice or help.
Thanks

Sorry, yes it is an automatic trans. This is going to be my first car and a dream come true. I have been drooling over G35s ever since I started looking at them over a year ago. Im going to look at the car tomorrow and if I like what I see, Ill bring my dad back.

Well I went and looked at the 2005 and it had some paint issues not mentioned in the ad and when I test drove it, it seemed like it has no power steering and the dealership just seamed a little sketchy so I passed on that one. But I have been looking and I found a white 2006 automatic g35 coupe with 125000 miles. They are asking 11,900 which I think is a lot for that many miles. I'm going to look at it today and Im going to try and get them down to 10,500 if I like it. Is there any scheduled maintenance at 125,000 I should make sure is already done?

Thanks

Don't do it. Your dad will be paying too much money for high mileage G repairs and you wont have any allowance for pizza and cookies.

Best tip: never buy an old luxury car unless you can perform the maintenance and repairs yourself.

Aka don't buy a G35.

Well I passed on this one but I found another silver 2006 automatic with 80,XXX miles that looks nice. I think I might go see it today. By the way, I'm paying for everything, I've been working a full time job. Dad is just there to help pick a nice car.

Going to look at a 2004 automatic with only 62,xxx miles today. I'm praying it is nice, so far every one I've looked at had something shady going on such as a suspicious full paint job done poorly but no accidents on the car fax. So if this one checks out, I'll take it over to an infinity dealership and hopefully I'll have a G by Thursday.

Find the lowest mileage G35 you can afford! Clear CarFax is a must so you don't end up with a junk yard dog! Maintenance records are a major plus, if the G was taken care of it will last longer and cost you less in the long run! Before you purchase have it checked out by a qualified mechanic, anything he finds can be deducted from the purchase price...Gary

I am proud to announce that I am now the owner of a 2004 auto G35 coupe. It has 62,xxx miles, 1 owner (old lady), and a clean car fax. I was very close to not getting it , there were 3 people at the dealership, at the same time trying to but the car. But I got their first, so I got to buy it. So pumped to finally have one and to be a part of this forum.
