2003 vs 2006 G35 Coupe - What would you choose

I'm in love with the G35 model... Now I'm trying to decide if I should go with the 2003 or 2006 model. Both are Automatic.

2003 G35 Coupe - 71,000 Miles ($9600)
Loaded with leather heated seats, sunroof, BOSE speakers, navigation, dvd player, premium wheels and a sport exhaust system.
No Accidents
Back tires have about 40% tread life and the fronts have about 75%.
Although it has had - FOUR - owners.

2006 G35 Coupe - 108,000 Miles ($12,000)
Heated seats, sunroof, leather interior, key less entry, push to start, Bose sound system.
Two sets of wheels summer prominence tires and winter tires.
Also included is upgraded intake, two sets of custom floor mats, two grills (sliver and all black), and custom sunshade.

Just looking for suggestions. Problems that I would see in the future with both vehicles. If the prices seem reasonable.

I live in Michigan. This will be a summer driver. Which one should I buy? Thanks!

The 03 has the DE motor, the 06 has the rev-up. (03 has lower hp, higher tq than 06)
The 03 has ugly oem wheels, the 06 has oem 19s (most sought after oem wheels).
The 03 has regular hid headlight, the 06 has projectors. (huge improvement)
The 03 is reliable, 06 risks common oil consumption problem.
The 06 has much nicer interior (dash/center consol)

Just the wheels and headlights would cost you ~$1400 to upgrade from 03 to 06. So it is really only a 1k difference between the cars. I would say get the 06.

That's assuming he would want the OEM rays. Maybe he plans on changing the wheels on either. The headlights are an absolute must tho.

Bigger question as far as I would be considering is whether or not it's an 03.5 or a first run. Also, are they both autos? I see the 06 is..

Also, have either of them any mods (other than exhaust/intake), and how old are the current owners?

The '06 simply because it has the upgrades over the first gen models. Are they both 5 speed ATs? If so the '06 doesn't have the dreaded REVUP motor that eats oil due to poor quality piston rings when combined with the 6 speed MT!

Yeah, if the 03 had brembos and a 6spd I'd go with that, but if they're basically the same, the 06 is gonna be more valuable. Plus the black on black looks better.

I'd look for a 6mt tho. Haha

Number of owners doesnt mean sh*t. A car with 10 owners could easily be taken care of better than a car with 1 owner that beat the **** out of it. Maintenance records mean far more than number of owners.

12k is a fair price for the car. Always try to haggle them down a bit if you can. But yes you should go for it, if everything checks out mechanically.
