Should I get an 06 G35 coupe???
Im looking at an 06 G35 S coupe, clean, 125K miles, one owner, dealer serviced, one rear end accident that was repaired.
Im hearing mixed opinions about these cars. Infiniti dealer says they are basically solid with a few issues--cam sensors, valve covers. My mechanic is saying stay away from the G35 and keep my Tundra--Tundra will go higher miles with fewer issues. I need a vehicle that wont give me any major repairs and that will go high miles.
Looking for honest input from the owners on this site!!!!!!!!

I own a Tacoma 4x4 and a G35 Coupe.... If i was forced to only own one vehicle and had to pick between the two in terms of overall useability and reliability of the vehicles, I would take my Tacoma.... then again, I live in New England so winter is a real problem. Your Tundra might be a different story though because Tundys are terrible on fuel economy and we don't know anything about how old or what year it is.
I assume you'd be getting rid of the truck and just have the car as your only vehicle?
Give us some info on your truck.

My Tundra is an 02 TRD V8 with 245K mikes--dealer serviced--runs like new no problems, yes I would be trading Tundra for G35 coupe.
I keep hearing the Tundras are bullet proof thats why Im hesitating trading it. Plus I just had the tbelt service done.
But it would be nice to have a fun sporty car.

I would look for one with fewer miles. The difference in price between a 125K mile G35 and a 60K mile one is only a thousand dollars or so. 125K miles is still high miles in my book. My first car went 250K miles, but I did that replacing everything from the motor, transmission, rear end, etc, and it was a Toyota.

G35's are great cars, and 125K isn't a TON of miles, but don't buy one with 125K miles on it with the expectation that it to last to 300K without any motor or tranny work, especially if it's a 2006 6-speed manual which would have the Rev-UP motor (notorious for very premature oil burning problems). Sure, there are people out there who get a ton of miles out of G's but they almost never last as long as a Tundra or Tacoma from the generation truck that you have.
Honestly, a Toyota pickup truck from 1990-2004 with a 22R, 3RZ, 5VZ or 2UZ motor and crank windows, a manual transmission and a manual transfer case are probably just about the most reliable and long-lasting vehicles you'll ever own short of a diesel as long as the frames don't rot out.
I'm not sure what your budget is or how old and experienced you are with vehicles and maintenance, but I (personally) would probably look for something with lower mileage if you can afford it or just keep the truck. Keep in mind too that G35 Coupes absolutely eat tires like you wouldn't believe, so budget for tire replacements every 18-25K miles... maybe 30K if you really baby it.

Of course the dealer will try to give you positive comments about it--its their job.
While 125k miles is not terribly high, you could do better and find one that has under 100k miles easily. Especially if you plan to sell/trade your truck for it.
There can be a lot of issues with a G35 with over 100k miles. Suspension, engine, transmission, interior/exterior wear, etc can all have issues. Without much detail of the maintenance and accident history, its impossible to tell how well a G35 can hold up.

Do you like cheap cast wheels?
Do you like plastidip?
Do you like street racing?
Do you like hella flush wheels?
If you answered Yes to any of those questions, please do not buy a G35.
But your Turnda will have far less problems than a G35 and easier/cheaper to repair. Also your Tundra is far more functional. The G35 looks better and is more fun to drive. Really depends on what you want out of a car.
