Question 04 vs 05

Well it I am searching the auctions now for my new G. I was wondering what the differences are between the 04 and the 05? I have read more hp but with the mods that I will be doing that really doesn't matter to me at all. I will be back to the Nissan side once again. I drove a Sentra with a SR20DET swap for a few years and then went to Honda. I have let this nagging voice in my head for a G go long enough. I need my G NOW! To hell with my Prelude, I can not say to hell with Honda, the CRX is still my all time favorite car. Anyway please inlighten me if you would. I am leaning towards the 04 because with the price difference I can have the G and some new shoes. Thanks for your input.

05 interior is much better than the 04 (gauge cluster and center console/dash)
05 MT has HP bumped up to 298 (with a loss in torque)
Updated headunit with MP3 CD support

05's MT have a smoother gear box and the clutch pedal is MUCH softer to press.

i have read that it is hard to see some display on sunny days in the 04, is that true? Are the head lamps different on the 05?

Could I get the 04 grearbox to shift as smoothly as the 05 with some upgrading? Besides a new tranny of course!

Can the gauge cluster from an 04 be changed to an 05 do you know? Again I am use to Honda's it is all pretty easy to do that with them, so if this question seems odd I am sorry.

Well, guys today at the auction 8 04 autos went through and not 1 manual. I might have to get an auto, are there any down sides to the auto? Besides the 15% loss of power over the manual? Does it have the auto stick feature at least? Does anyone have a auto that WISHES THEY HAD A MANUAL or manual and wish auto

thank you for your input so far

There are PLENTY of people who got Autos wishing they had MT but there is a thread where NO MT driver regrets getting MT. Not even those who live in crouded areas. As for making the 04 shift like an 05, I dont think that cheap to accomplish.

Hope these pics help...

I had an 04, and after 3800 miles only, I traded it in for the 05. I loved how the 05's interior looked, but once I drove it, I was sold.

I just searched the Chicago auction and there are 8 G running though this week. I am thinking of an 03 or 05 now. Just no point in spending the extra money on an 04 for the same thing. I can buy my WORK wheels and an 03 instead of the 04.

I will try and get to a Infinity Dealership in St. Louis and check out the 05 int. Maybe that will sell me on it. I thank you all for helping me deceide.

Dustin

^ For me, looking at that interior made me really want the 05. However, once I DROVE the 05 and quickly felt the improovement in ride and drive, I said "to hell with em brembos, gimme an 05"

well, I went and looked at an 05 and the price difference for what I got was not the great for me. I just bought my 04 Pearl White G35 6MT 15 min ago in and auction in Ohio. I hope it gets here in great shape I still have not had the chance to even look at it. Wish my luck!

Interesting...buying a car sight unseen. What options did the '04 have on it? How much better of a price can one get at an auto auction? I presume this is a dealer auction.
