Considering G35 Coupe

Hi, i'm considering buying the g35 coupe but might have to go to the sedan for practicality. I'm 19 in school in Illinois and live in NY, so couple of trips back and forth a year. I'm wondering how the G coupe especailly, handles in the rain / snow. Is it annoying for people to get in and out of your car? I have an 01 Eclipse Spyder right now, and its annoying as hell for people to get in and out. And with someone sitting behidn me, i have to scoot up to drive which is annoying. Is it comfortable to drive the coupe w/ someone behind you?

Another thign is is the Bose upgrade worth it? i really like music, so i might end up switching a system in if its not good. But do you guys enjoy the bose?

Well, from my perspective I got the coupe because I like everything about the coupe: the way it looks, handles, feels, etc. I would almost say there are so much difference from looking and driving the coupe and the sadan is that you have you test drive both. Yes, there is the annoying rear passenger in-and-out issue but I don't have that many people use the rear (that's why I got the coupe). The doors and kinda heavy and swing wide when I open it so I have to be careful not to bump the car next to me. I've scarp my shoes on the door panals way too often because I don't want to swing the door wide to get in/out (easily cleaned though, but still annoying). As for the BLOSE, it BLOWS. I'm just researching at the moment but when I find what I want, it's going to the little BLOSE Junkyard

I agree with mephisto that the coupe back seat isn't well designed for ingress/egress. Infiniti honestly could have done better. However, as for passengers sitting in the back, I've had some taller people sit in the back seat and the biggest problem is headroom. Legroom isn't that great, but the headroom sucks. I'm kinda short, so having people sit behind me isn't as big of a problem, but if you're tall, I could see it being a factor. Since I live in LA, I couldnt' tell you about how it does in rain/snow since we don't get much. And since I came from a POS sentra before this, I don't think the BOSE is the the worst thing out there, but for a premium car and considering that this is a premium stereo....it could be better.

Up until I graduated from high school I used my back seat every weekend. Now that I'm 26 and working full time, I've used my back seat once or twice since I bought it more than 3 month ago. It's not so difficult. I gave my G sedan to my wife and got the coupe because I didn't need one. BTW, only time I used the back seat was when I took my daughter. That's how much I don't need the back seat even with the kid.

Hard choice to make.. in MY opinion, I wouldn't want to have a G35 Sedan as my car. It doesn't look as sexy as the Coupe. This is why I got the Coupe because when I think G35, I think of the Coupe, not the Sedan. I did drive the G35X before and I must say it feels VERY light compared to the Coupe and the acceleration was great too. The handling is just as responsive and turns very well on the corners. The 17 or 18" rims & tires also help the car feel much smoother compared to my 19" rims on my Coupe. Keep in mind that if you get the 19" rims, your car will feel very sporty; you'll be able to feel any small hole in the road. I never drove my G35 yet in the snow so I can't tell you much about that but in the rain, I leave VDC on and make sure I drive under 3,000 rpm. It is somewhat annoying for people to sit in the back of the coupe too. Keep in mind that the coupe's leg room is substantial but the headroom is very limited. If someone's sitting behind you and they got long legs, you may have to move your seat up to a position where you don't feel comfortable.

From what I can see, it seems to me that the Sedan is better for you. If you're not really too concerned about the looks, the 05 G35X is great. Fast pickup, feels light, turns very well and is all wheel drive which is a plus.

Bose = sucks.. I agree with the previous posts. I didn't even get the premium package.

Good luck.

I'd say if you are more concerned with looks, get the coupe or you will be disappointed. I love my sedan, but stock, it just aint that pretty of a car. The reason I bought the sedan was, well I didn't want a 2 door car, and the sedan drives like a 2 door car with 4 doors. I figure a drop and some rims (done right of course), the sedan is just as equally as graceful.
