Help please, buying interest.

Hello everyone!

I am looking to buy a 2003 Infiniti. I test drove an '06 and I fell in love with it. I use to drive a '01 Trans Am and I have to admit there is little to no comarison. The infiniti drives itself, it is truly amazing.

Ok now to the point I need some advice to help me buy this car from people that know more than me. (any G35 owner). What sort of things should I look for when I buy my car? What should I be cautious of?

The deal I am working with now is a silver '03 A/T with almost every option incl. nav. it had approx. 50k miles and seems to be in great shape. I haven't seen the car yet though. We are semi agreed on $23,500. Does that seem fair?

If anyone knows of any in the central/northern Ca. Area let me know. I am willing to spend up to around what the guy is asking for his.

Thanks ahead of time for the help and I look forward to my future with a G.

Good idea. Also what are the cheap, effective upgrades? and what kind of HP do they create? Like cold air intake and other small boltons.

For comparison, I picked up a 2003 6MT coupe with 34K miles, Injen CAI, Short Shifter and springs for 23,400, in Atlanta. Sounds like a fair deal.

$1000 will get you 20wrhp/20 ft.-lbs., after that your just wasting your money. If your going to spend more, you should just go F1.

I got this from my Crawford Cats, 1/2" Plenum Spacer + ISo Thermal kit & Z-Tube K&N filter. I an not going to do any more performance mods at this point. If your going to spend an a addition 2k on headers it truly a waste of money if you consider you can get into F1 for 5k to 7k. Headers only produce 10 to 15 rwhp at peak above the hp from the mods I already noted.

Athough, I am no expert...

so with these upgrade how fast do you think it is? If you dont know what have you beat in a race?

I'm looking for something that will atleast keep up with my old T/A at 5 sec. 0-60 and mid 13 sec. 1/4

what is the spacer and ISo thermal kit?

Optional
Forget the '03/'04's and find an '05 coupe coming off a short lease or a demo car. You get the revised interior upgrades (aluminum trim, revised guage design, revised dash and console design, power tilt wheel, aluminum pedals) not found on the '03/'04's, 19" wheels with the sport susp, etc, etc.

You'll pay a little bit more now for the newer car but in the long run, the upgrades on the 05 will help it retain its value better versus the '03/'04's. Do some digging and you'll find one. Step up and go for a 2005, you won't regret the purchase.

I can do 5.9/13.9 ish w/ my 6MT, a really good driver should be able to do better.

I don't like to race unless I know the guy I'm racing, so I don't really know, but I raced my friends w/

BMW M3....No chance, but that was before my mods
350Z Convertible stock...I can take it.

Moderdyne Plenum Spacer...Search it.

Seems to be a fair price, but its out of warrenty so you might want someone to look at it in a shop. Also kawasakik remember this car already has most of the upgrades being an infiniti so the stuff you add on is not going to do that much.

What is the speed difference between the M6 and A5? If I remember right the warranty is 60k so it would be good for another 10k. Correct me if I'm wrong.
