Will I qualify to buy/lease a G????

cars are one of the worst investments. i worked hard for my cars and dumped a lot of money into them instead of putting it all away for a house. i do understand you want a hot car because i was the same way. as long as your parents will co-sign for you then you'll be in luck. it is your choice to do so or not.

Are you sure you can get $15k for the rsx-s? Is it still being financed or already paid off? Depending on how much you still owe versus how much you'll get for it, you may only have a few grand in change to put into the g35... keep the rsx-s and don't bother with the g35. like said above already, insurance and fuel costs alone will hurt especially if it will be daily driven. leasing isn't a good option in your situation either if the g35 is daily driven. the milage costs will hurt you at lease term expiration time. leasing also requires you maintain the vehicle on a constant basis, which don't come cheap when all the little things add up.
my younger bro can't even afford my 2k2 6spd maxima due to insurance cost alone because of his careless driving (now has 2 points). He's just 20yrs old yet have a full time job (only high school diploma)... his insurance cost per month for minimum full coverage on the maxima is already 460 a month which translates to 5520 per year... the insurance costs more than the remaining car payments...
I told him to stick with the beater toyota truck until he clears his points and to continue to save his money.

thanks for all the great responses guys... but yeah my rsx was payed off cash so I have no payments or anything to worry about besides insurance which I'm under my moms as a secondary driver which I pay 2200 a year. My rsx is pretty modified with hondata #4, aem cai, greddy evo 2 exhaust, falken azenis tires, and dc race headers. My car is said to be just as fast as a 350z stock so.... I just fell in love with the g35s when they first came out, and also the 350z's. I don't really drive too much so I wouldn't have to worry about going over the miles on a lease. So let's just say I have 15k when I sell my car and decided to lease a g35. Basically put nothing down at lease signing and keep 15k in savings. Then use my monthly earnings from work to make payments which I've read are around $550 and lets say insurance is $250 which equals $800. I know my mom will probably be nice enough and could probably help me out with insurance and pay half. I will still have 15k in the bank which I can use in case something goes wrong or an emergency. What do you guys think about this??? thanx

Some of the advice might sound bit harsh but they are sound advice nevertheless and I am sure most of them are from their own past experience...You are assuming that you will have a job that pays you at least 1k/mos for next 5 years, and that only covers the payment and insurance, not counting the living expenses and God forbid if you decide to have a G/F , dont you want a place of your own down the road? ...Why not keep the S for one more year and save as much as you can and end of one year if you have saved 10k in the bank? then by all means get the G...Having to come up with that big payment is fun every months
Love the Evo2 exhaust, back in early 03, I almost got an S but there werent many parts out yet, they keep on pushing back the releasing date of the Jackson racing S/C, only option back then was the Cybernation's T/C which it isnt legal in CA.

Like everyone has said don't spend all the money on the car. When i turned say 19 i could have gotten a 30k car but figured spending the money on more fun things in college (partial rent, booze, motorcycles) was much better than just the car. I am still in the same predicament. I'd rather have myt apt on campus to bring a girl back to rather than th 15 min ride back to the parents in the nice car. I still have an infiniti but not the g35. Oh well, if its what you want do it
