well as long as you can find a G within your price range and if you really like it, then go for it.
personally, i'd take something w/ lower mileage. if you can get a new car, get a new car such as civic.

wow so many opinions, well first of all, i have limited the car down to a rather small group, first, the tsx, then solara coupe, and si because of reliability, convenience, performance and such. These cars are all from extremely reliable companies and are all within a power range that i a new teen driver could handle. also really "cool" sports cars such as the s2000, 350z and g coupe are all very costly to insure and are really high profile (might get stolen, keyed) .

so what i'm asking is if you guys could help me choose between the ones i listed, pointing out pros and cons. I will be grateful for more responses

i say screw that, you only live once and get it while you can. you may not be able to affored it later in life. so if your parents are going to buy it, i would take it. your a fool not to!

Solara: Don't get the Solara...it's too soft so it might not handle the way you want it to without mods... and if you're looking for a MT, I don't think there is a model with one currently except for way back.

TSX: Handles well for a FWD car. Not much torque, but very peppy. I think this car is a little to classy for a HS student.

SI: Fast for a stock 4-banger. I think personally the new interior is nice. Haven't driven it yet but would have liked to own it if I was back in HS.

yes that's what i thought too, after talking to my friend's sister who has a solara, she said that the ride was too soft also, she prefered the tsx which she test drove but due to the price, she took the solara.
I would very much like to have a tsx, the prices are comming down and by 07 i can get one for under 20k which i think is a very good deal. also i do think the classy is the way to describe this car, yet with the right body kit, it can go from classy to sexy (lol) also i think it's at least better than the ones that drive bmws and porsches etc in hs.

cool, i think i'm going to the tsx as you said, it is sporty but not enough to make the insurance company laugh at you, and is convenient but not enough to become a family saden, low enough power for the parent's and high enough for me, also classy but not enough to make people hate you for it so i think it will suit me fine

ok that's pretty nice, i would think that the gti would cost less in terms of insurance, look up insurance costs at esurance.com, they give you a free quote without giving any personal information (great tool) also the insurance will definately kill you for almost any car, even say a really old civic, the rate for a g35 coupe with good student discount is about 4000 a year which is not horrible compared to most sports cars. good luck on your car, i hope things work out and you get the car that is both fun and useful

$1774 for 6 MONTHS. Now it might drasticallychange depending on where you live but its what i got, you can check for yourself at esurance.com
