Color Dilemma! No garage, Black or Diamond Graphite

Guys,
I'm about to purchase an 06 6mt coupe, but I can't decide on color, I have a choice between black or diamond graphite with premium and aero, but I don't know what to do. I always wanted a black car, but my parent's durango is black, and its swirled to hell. I don't have a garage to park it in, and i live in oregon so it rains 70% of the year, what do you guys think i should do?

Hey and welcome to the forums,

I have a BLK 04 G35 Coupe and I loved it. Past tense since im selling the car for something else.

Unless you are ready to take care of a black car, giving it much attention it needs at least once a week. Then no, i would not recommend you get a black car. It's very hard to maintain if your the lazy type.

Why? Well first, I would not take a black car to a car wash. Wash it yourself. If your lazy, then your already out.

Two, swirlly marks will always show up on a black car in some way or another. So get ready to spend some cash on detailing it by a professional, or do it yourself with some zaino or something of that nature. Again if your lazy, then your out again.

The good point is black cars are just so sexy after a good wash. But that only last for like 10min before you see dust sitting on your car

I'm not trying to make it sound bad, but just fore warning you of the duty you will have to maintaining her. Either way, both colors are extremely nice, and hey its a G afterall

I had two black cars and loved them, BUT i spent way to much time washing & waxing them. That is why I got a DG and now love it. It looks good even when it is dirty.

I would only buy a black car again if I could keep it garage kept & had a 2nd car to use for most other days.

I use to love waxing/waxing/polishing my cars untill i found my self doing it 2-3 times a month in order to keep my past black cars looking mint. After a while i started to hate it.

My friend who bought my last car ( black ) used to talk Sh*t about how it was not that hard to keep a daily driver back car looking good untill he got mine. It only took him 2 months to figure that out.

I dunno. For some reason, whether the paint is swirled or not, black looks good when it's raining. Heavy rain though. Not that sprinkle crap.

But if your parent's car is swirled up like crazy because of your wash methods, then I'd say go with DG.

DG will always look more clean than black, especially if you have no garage!

I'm biased because I have a DG. So if you live around Portland I say get black, if not get the DG. Can't be too many of us with the same color here.

DG would be best if not garage kept. Dust/dirt don't show as much or bad on lighter color vehicles.

Easy fix......

Here's an easy fix for ya......buy what ever color G
you love. Then help your Dad clean out the garage
so both cars will fit......see no problem! I'm the only
one on my block that can put both of his cars in the
garage.

if you're a detailing nut and you enjoy doing it frequently then go with black and get a car cover.
if you're not def. get DG--its a beautiful color.
if i could go back and do it again i'd get DG (i have silver)
