Help on Lease of Coupe

April 6th

Here is my deal. I have yet to go to the dealer but I want to have all the info IN HAND the day I walk in.

06 Coupe.
MSRP -$37,390
Invoice - 34,203
Buy Price - $34,500 “I hope”

Now I understand that there are dealer fee's and acquisition fee's. Does Infinity financial charge bank fee's for “A” credit individuals?

Is the Residual value calculated off the MSRP or the negotiated price?

Can you tell me what other fee's the dealer will try to stick me with? I really want to buy the car for $34,500. I can’t afford it higher.

It would be a 2 year Lease with 10k miles a year. I don't want to put down ANYTHING other than my first months payment.

The tax here in S Florida is 6.5%

Can I just go in there and say I want to buy the car for $34,500 PERIOD! You can add in your dealers fee's and other fee's into that price. If you can't do it then "I" can't do it.

Can you give me an OUT THE DOOR monthly payment for this car? When I do the Edmunds calculator I get something like $675 a month!!!

Thanks for any help you can offer.

James

P.S. are Infinity Lease’s able to be taken over by other people? Like Leasetrader.com?
If so, will it cost me anything to transfer it?

Here is an update to the message I left for you a day ago. You have not been able to respond yet but I thought I would give you an update.

The dealer agreed to $200 over invoice on a coupe, auto, 18's, premium, matt, guards.

He also agreed to %72 and a MF of .00219.

BUT….

He then wrote out a quote and it said they had to add a $695 dealer fee, a 500 Bank fee and more fees. It came out to 2088 over the selling price. He then rolled it into the selling price making it $36,688.55 and quoted me $581.80 a month for 24 months!

This is coming from a dealer that has 5 left over 05’s on the lot as well.

Could I tell them that the selling price with ALL the inceptions including bank fee’s and dealer fee’s and license and taxes other than the first months payment needs to be $200 over invoice?

Is that what you all are doing in order to get these $400 a month payments?

You talk all about selling price but then never talk about all the added fee’s. I don’t have any money to put down. So does this mean there is no way I will get a Coupe in the 400’s? With just my first months payment down?

The dealer is definitely taking you for a ride. Standard fees are:

$595 bank fee
~$300 registration fee (varies by state)
~$45 document fee

TOTAL fees should be right ~$1000. They're making up about $1000 in additional fees to screw you. Keep in mind that they also get a $1000 kickback from Infiniti for every car they sell, and the car costs them less than advertised "invoice". Don't take any crap from them.

I ran your lease numbers for you, and assuming legit lease fees of $940, with an offer of $581.80 per month the dealer is effectively selling you the car for $1542 over invoice.

For the fees of $940 with $200 over invoice, you should be paying $519 per month.

To get it down to $400 per month you'd need to increase your lease term. I have a spreadsheet that does all this for you if you're handy with Excel.

There should only be acquisition fee and that is also negotiatable.

The residual is calculated for MSRP.

I would have to say that it isnt such good idea, because if you and dealer do agree on the selling/leasing price? they might stick to you on the financing side of the deal, look from all sides...

first, know what kind of credit you have, try to get pre-apporved first even if you are going to lease, so you will know what kind of interest rate you could get, that will give dealer no edge when comes to negotiating.

second, do not said you dont have down payment, as matter of fact? give them very vague info about anything, they will use anything agnist you, give you hard time about it, basicly make it as if it impossible to lease a car without money down, or lackluster credit, BS!

third, know the residual value before hand and hold them to it, that way they can not change it to make your payment lower during the negotiating, they will have to come down on sale price of the car and not bumper up the residual value.

four, do not sign anything, if yo dont understand it, get a bad feeling about the deal? WALK.... take a walk outside or use bathroom, give yourself some time to reflect, do not rush into anything, remember the biggest negotiating tool you have is..."NO", just say no if you dont feel comfortable.

Get yourself a copy of May issue of Car and Driver, great article on page 94..."Showroom truncoat comes clean", Dirty dealing exposed, and how not to get taken to the cleaners when buying a car...very good read!...and good luck.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the info on the lease.

Do you think there is a registration fee in Florida?

They are also trying to get me with a $695 dealer fee. I know that is negotiable.

So what our saying is about $1000 of the fee's are legit and can't be negotiated down? So If I don't put at least $1000 down then they would have to build that into the lease. Acquisition fee should be around $550 itself from my understanding.

Can I also put multiple security deposits down to bring the MF lower?

So the $419 deal for a two year lease of a coupe is for a base one I take it?

Final questions: If they are making a $1000 kickback, then why don't I just negotiate invoice.....?

Not to rob the thread, but I am interested in seeing that spreadsheet if you don't mind.
