Modifying a lease?

sup ppl, I know it's not allowed, but...If I were to want to do certain mild mods to it, would it be a problem? All I want to do is put a catback single exhaust, intake, skyline badges, tints, a gialla grille, and a more comfortable shift ****. Of course I will keep all of the original parts handy and I'd be willing to put them back on after the lease is up. Will I be able to do this?? Because I was told by the dealer it would be ok but then again this would be my first lease and I'm thinking maybe he's just trying to sell me.

You can do whatever you want to your leased car...up to the moment before you return it, I would be more worried about the warranty issue with the Mods you out on.

ok thanks dude...i was under the impression that i wouldnt have to worry about the warranty void issue unless the problem i'd want to claim is found to be directly caused by any of the mods i put on

Yes, thats why I say that, you will have more to worry about from waranty stand point of view then you moding your leased car, as long as you return it to some what close to stock when the lease is up, but you do need to watch what you put on the car tho, as you dont leave trace/noticeable wear from your mods.

i had some customers bring back leased cars w/ superchargers, tints, etc. and basically he said keep the supercharger. most people will just put it back to stock before they turn it in.

what a waste of money!! someone actually returned a lease with the supercharger intact? did the dealership take it off before reselling it?

yes you can modify a lease. The best thing to do if you are not going to buy it out afterwards is too try and put it back to stock. That is what I did with my last car!!

nope we just let the car go back to IFS back to stock. whoever installed that procharger system really did a hack job in it -- the pulley belt was actually stretched too much and wasn't lined up properly and the a/f ratio was off the charts.
