In preparation of selling my coupe, I thought I would make it easy and pay off the car in full. Don't have to worry about payoff amounts and have the title in hand for a swap with a cashier's check from the buyer.

Sent payment in 4/13. Infiniti Financial Services received it on the 15th (I had delivery confirmation on my payment.) I call them around the 29th for a status and they say that they didn't process the check until the 19th. It'll take two weeks from that time to get the title mailed to me. The person I talk to says I'll see it on 5/9.

OK, I figure, 'whaddya gonna do?'

I work out a deal with a buyer on the 5/6 and tell him that the title will be here by the 9th. The 9th comes and goes. I call them up and they say they mailed it on the 5th. Now its 5/11 and I still don't have the freakin' title. It only took two days for my check to get down to them. It shouldn't take 5 days for the title to get back up to me.

I've been going into work early (6:30 with a 45 minute drive) and leaving work early for the past 3 days so that I can check my mail and get to the bank with the buyer before it closes for the day. Ha ha. The joke has apparently been on me.

Just got off the phone with them again. They can cancel the title and have one re-issued but it'll take another 3 business days and if I want it sent overnight, it'll be on my dime, LOL!

So, just wanted to warn y'all to give yourself plenty of time if you want to try and get the title ready for the your buyer. Apparently, it takes just about a month.

If I lose the buyer (and have to re-list my ads again) I'll go ballistic. It was hard enough holding back the F bombs today.
