PC Marathon Session

Hi guys,

Okay, you guys all inspired me and especially Kevin with his artillery of before/after shots.

So after ordering my PC and a couple of boxes of supplies I decided to get at it.

Wow, lots of time and sweat on this hot humid weekend. But it was worth it.

I started out with removing the wheels and gave them and the brake calipers the clay treatment and 3 coats of wheel wax. 3 hours. Next I fired up the PC. I was going to clay the car but had barely any crap even on my wheels so decided to pass on that. Most of the car was done with SSR2 followed by SSR1. On the hood I had 4 passes adding the SSR2.5 then back again with the SSR1 since I wasn't happy with the first job. Next I gave it the ISA bath to remove any polish. 11.5 hours. Then the PC got into the act again with the LSP beginning by spreading the Mezerna FMJ sealant. Two coats and I was ready to move on. The FMJ gives brilliant shine that almost hides the colour of the car. Next up was the wax. Pinnacle Souveran now blankets the G. 3.5 hours. Two coats of this gem gives the G a real wow look. I really like the deep glossy rich look of this stuff

Now it's back to get the clear bra replaced on the hood, fenders and mirrors that I had removed to fix all the swirls that were there before it was originally installed. The new bumper gets the coverage of course too. Then I've got to redo the fenders and hood with the LSP since they'll be removing the finish with their prep for the bra.

Here are a few before shots in the sun to give you an idea of the huge amount of swirls I had on my paint. Next up are the end result. Pics don't do justice. It's gorgeous and much of the damage is gone.

Thank you once again Kevin with your encyclepedia of instruction and personal product recommendations. Many thanks for helping me raise the detailing bar and for the many more gawkers and thumbs up I get now.

Deane

Thanks everyone. I've got to get mine up to the level you guys have yours in.

It started Thursday night and went on and on! My wife thought I was nuts but it was a labour of love.

Ian, I look forward to seeing yours too with those great mods.

I decided to wash the car this afternoon after reading this thread...parking the car outside this summer really takes its toll. The paint surface feels like sandpaper rather than glassy smooth. I slapped on a coat of wax on it, but without proper polishing, it really didn't do much. It didn't stop me from rewarding myself with several Steamwhistler pilsners however.

Hey glad we helped inspire you. But it was probably more the reward of the cold ones. Post up some pics so we can check it out.

It's a lot of work doing the full meal deal. I get to protect the G inside all of the time except when driving so that should help with the care.

Awesome job. Lovin' that Souveran, huh? It's quickly becoming a staple on my car too. Interesting to note that you had some rotary halograms on your car; maybe the dealer got to it before you bought it.
