buy a cheap p.o.s. with auto to drive to work and back...will be worth the depreciation you will lose trying to sell it.

I bet you he doesn't even own a G35... Probably a 82 Hyundai Pony... I bet someone cut him off in a G35 and he now hates us forever...
What the hell... Do they even make a G35 in Automatic? I guess it begs the question.......................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....

They make them for old guys like me that have arthritis in their left knee and are tired of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic pushing a clutch in and out.
Stick shift ain't that great....look at all the super cars now that come without a clutch pedal!

Me too! I'm very happy with the AT. Love the power and everything else about the car. Did my share of knee work in the first 3 decades of driving.

But my 2004G35c is Auto. Been a stick driver since 85 but with a broken left heel a few years back, pumping a clutch would be really an effort and painful. Besides, how would I shift and talk on the cell phone at the same time?
Sure miss the stick though, especially putting around in a Civic Si or GTI.

honestly i like driving MT during stop & go traffic than AT. It gives me something to do in order to ease the road rage :P. plus it's easier to control the speed with just the clutch and gas instead of having to move my right foot left and right to switch between braking and acceleration.
And man, i would give it a couple months at least before making a decision to sell the car. Right now you're gonna take a big hit before you can get it sold, so you might as well stick with it (pun not intended) for some more time and see how things go.

me too!, just can't talk, shift AND turn at the same time :P I'd use my headset instead if they weren't busted. I do try to keep cell phone usage to a minimum though when i'm driving.Originally Posted by Endless G

I've been driving standards since 1971. It's like second nature with me. It just flows. There is nothing more frustrating to me than wanting a gear and that damn tranny won't give! I can't imagine driving an auto now. I hate to get back in my company car after a weekend. I must admit, that rush hr traffic is not the most pleasant thing with a standard. But the rest of the time makes up for it.
If you decide to keep it, you will get used to it.

Jason, just learned how to drive stick last month... I saw him taking a Lucky Driving school test with Marta Cheering him on when he got it rolling in first gear.
It was funny watching him bunny hop the trecel around Kennedy Commons. By the way Jason, where did you get that Pink Dress? I am thinking about getting one for my Daughter... You trend setter!
LMAO!
Anyhow, all jokes aside...
In my opinion, it's definitely nice to have an Auto when your driving for various reasons (Injuries, bum knee, lazy)
I just think the guy who started this thread is out to lunch (No offence Dude). It's like buying a house in the country and then a week later deciding you no longer like the commute to work. Then waking up to realize you over paid for the house and now have to lose large to remedy the situation. I really hope you can find someone to take over the car or like someone suggested, take it back to the dealer and complain or something...
It just seems like you wasted a whole lot of your time with out making sure you were making the right decision... Also, in an effort to convert you to a stick man, I would be more than happy to give you free lessons and show you how to get the most out of your G. Granted a new G isn't the easiest car to learn on with the major low end torque and unforgiving gear box. But once you learn how to match rev your downshifts and find the groove to shift as smooth as an auto you will truly love the rush of dropping 2 gears and punch`in the car into oblivion!
The G is truly a remarkable car and the 6MT is the only way to go and feel like your part of the car!
