Winter mats for wheat interior and Winter Tires

What do you guys use for winter mats? It seems quite difficult to find a set that goes well with the wheat interior but yet deep enough for all the road salt and snow.

Speaking of snow, do you guys think it's necessary to put winter rubbers on with the G35x? I notice that some G35x'es get Eagle RS-A and some with Turanza. Which is better?

Do yourself a favour - get some winter tires. When the conditions are bad, the worst winter tire is better than the best all season tire - and a good winter tire will make your bad all seasons look utterly stupid. I'm using Toyo Garit HT's for winter (with RWD), and they're much better than the stock Turanza EL42's even on wet pavement, let alone snow & ice.

If you don't want to get Infiniti mats, you can check Crappy Tire - they sell a universal winter mat made by Michelin that's really deep and fits the Sedan reasonably well. I got a light brown one for my wife's Corolla that might look OK with wheat.

Totally agree.

Get yourself some winter snows. The tires that Infiniti give us are not the best for the colder seasons. Strickly a limited seasonal tire IMO.

I have had a set of Blizzacks( LS 50's) since I got the car(2002) and they have performed great.

As for mats, you can try Infiniti of go the Crappy Tire route.

Good Luck,

Bill

I agree 200% with the other guys regarding winter tires. In the first winter of ownership of the G, I made the mistake of running my all seasons. I will NEVER do that again. The last couple of winters I have been running Blizzaks and it has been a HUGE difference. Whether you have the X or not, provide you and your family an extra layer of safety and get winter tires.

CT is probably your best bet regarding mats. That is what I plan on doing when I get my new car.

Get winter tires, world of difference. FWIW here are some prices quoted from tiretrends

The bad news is that in all the options below at least one of the sizes is not available yet. The stock was depleted over the winter. Winter tires usually get restocked in late August, early September. Give us a call around then and we should be able to get the tires for you them... pricing may change however, as manufacturers typically do a price adjustment in July.

Any questions, let me know.
