I ended up ordering the the unit Friday morning from Crutchfields and had it sent to the home of a guy I'm working with down there. It should arrive on Wednesday and I'll just bring it back in my luggage. I'm allowed $200 a week, so declaring it isn't an issue.

I'm really looking forward to getting this in! Now I have to start tracking down options for brake pads... I had the car in for an oil change this morning and they tell me the pads are getting low in the front. I would prefer to do them myself but I may just leave the car with the guys at Mantis Motorsports to sort it out.

What's the plan guys... does everyone still need to install their units?

Dirtyserby mentioned that this Sunday would be an option... who's good to go?

I currently don't have my G35. Look what happened at the start of the long weekend:

It's 1am. I'm peacefully lying in bed just about to go to sleep when I'm suddenly awaken by a loud crash. I get up, hit the porch light and looked outside. What do I see. My G35 is sitting sideways with a old Corolla replacing the G's parking spot. WTF?!?! I was shocked and confused. A young female; driver of the Corolla was bleeding from deployed airbags and glass shards. I checked that she was okay and called the police and ambulance. Apparently, she fell asleep on the wheel, drove across my corner house lawn, tracks leading into the driveway where my recently purchased G35 was parked. The G's rear bumper was completely off, trunk caved in, lights smashed, subs and amp mashed and muffler was on the wrong side. I watched in pain as the tow pulled the two cars apart and heard the crunch of pieces falling off in the process. Whoohoo, Happy birthday to me! What a way to kick off the long weekend. To think that I park my baby far away from other cars just so I don't get door dings... I would never image that it's not even safe in my own driveway. Funny thing, It's usually parked in the garage but I'm in the process of cleaning out my old Maxima parts. What a freak accident. So yeah, been up all night dealing with police, tow and insurance. Can't even see the adjuster till Tuesday so I'm in the dark. Sleepy but can't sleep and depressed as s#it. Just thought I come on here to vent. More to come tomorrow...

Thanks Wayne. It would have been an awesome weekend to spend working on the G. I had just put in my subs/amp last weekend and left ALL pending mods in the trunk. I had spent over a grand in mods not including subs/amp. Some of it was still in now crumpled shipping boxes and was salvageable but I haven't tested it yet to see if they are working since I don't have anywhere to install LOL.

Once again, Richie, so sorry to hear of 'accident'.....
I thought a new thread concerning your issue would be best to allow members to leave messages on it instead of on Dirtyserby's thread.

Well, I got my car back after 78 days in the shop but that's not why I'm posting as there's still unfinished work to be done on the car.

The good news is I got around to installing the USA SPEC PA11-NIS iPod interface last weekend and the unit works great!

Just to confirm for those who came across this thread and have PM'ed me asking about the results of my install (and perhaps any future searchers) that it does indeed work for the first gen 2003 G35 sedan w/ the "Doggie Dog" trunk. It is truly plug and play. I know I search the ends of the earth for this answer and just took a chance. You need to plug in two harnesses. The FSM refers to them as the main audio harness and the option connector. Done! Then hitting the CD button will display "CD CHGR" and activate the iPod. Audio is clean and changes tracks via wheel control faster then a CD. Love it! Only complaint is the iPod snyc connector is tight and hard to remove.

I will try to post a write-up soon w/ pics.

Thanks anyways DirtySerby for your offer to help. Still love to meet up and check your ride or work on other installs in the future. Same to you Badkarma.

Good stuff you got your car back Richie, I hope it is up to your expectations.

Nice to hear that you can get back to the mod process after such a lengthy downtime.

Welcome back .
Wayne
