Crutchfield was cheaper 139.99 + $20 Mastercard Discount and Free Shipping however they don't ship to Canada yet... Late October was what the rep told me.

DiscountCarAudio also carries it for $134.99 + Free iPod holder but I don't know if they ship to Canada.

I ended up ordering mine through Cardomain.com for $149.99 + Free Shipping to Canada yesterday. They price match 105% so I also emailed then with the links for the other two suppliers prices to see what they can do but I'm not too concerned as I really want this unit.

Nice.

I've so many questions...

What year G did you install it on?
Are you using it in direct or playlist mode?
How's the steering wheel control and sound?
Does the tracks change instantaneous on keypress or is there a lag?
How easy is the install and opperate?
What's your thoughts on it?
The good, the bad and the ugly?

Feel free to answer all (or none)

I'd love to check it out in person. Mine's in the mail and should be here shortly. Perhaps I can bribe you with some beers to supervise my install since you have experience. I'm in Mississauga as well.

2004 g35 coupe

Steering wheel control is amazing. The sound is pretty good. I leave the
ipod on at half volume, and control the rest through the car. I find it sounds best that way.
Track change is very smooth, almost like a cd.
Install was annoying, but now that I've done it once, I can do it again no problem, i know the problem areas. Operation of it is great. I only wish you could fast forward the songs...
Basically there is no bad or ugly other then the not forwarding songs.

If u ever want to check it out, lmk...and I would gladly help u out with the install. I wished there was someone to help me, cuz i got stuck a few times...but now I know how to do it so its all good.

If you want pm me when you get it, and Ill come over and we can do it. Shouldnt take more than a couple of hours.

Thanks for the feedback and PM dirtyserby. We should set up an install day. Alot of threads I read, it seems people are not clear if they have an orginal '03 or '03.5 w/ SAT. I have an 03 and I hope it works because I'm under the impression that it uses the SAT harness which I don't know if I have or not. Did you have any harness left unplug after doing the install? I'll also be doing the G-Net Nav Video Input too since it requires removing the HU anyways so kill two birds with one stone. I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I get all the pieces and we can set something up.

yeah for sure we should set it up, and yeah to confirm i do have the sat harness left unplugged. I just taped it up and secured it to the back of the radio.

I dont know much about the g-net nav video, but we can figure out. Three heads are always better than one.

Looking forward to this, it should be fun.

Thumbs up

I'd be up for this as well. I'm assuming that I would need to buy the PA11 – NIS at Crutchfield's. This is the unit that connects via the CD changer & not the satellite connect. Although I have button on my dash which says "SAT", I thought I read a while ago that the actual harness setup was not there on Canadian models. Which I guess could make sense, as my 2003.5 predates satellite availability in Canada. With all that said, I'm not sure I could use the PAC AAI-NIS.

This is the unit I'm looking at ordering:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-pIfKVil...h=USA+SPEC+581
I believe this is the one klubjunkee was speaking of. If I place the order quickly, I can get it sent to my hotel in Texas and mule it home in my luggage.

Let me know if you guys are still going to set something up.
Cheers
Jay

Hhhmm... Looks like Grubbs Performance is carrying the other model, the PAC AAI-NIS2.

http://www.grubbsperformance.com/Mer..._Code=Specials

If this is a viable option, I aways pass Grubbs Infiniti on the way to the airport. That would beat waiting for FeEx to show up.

These two days look to be okay:

Sunday October 1st - 17-14 oC
Monday October 2nd - 19-12 oC

I've got a couple questions for you guys... I'll apologize now if I'm asking tired questions but I'm hearing conflicting information so I need to ask.

1/ Do you lose the use of your CD changer with the USA-SPEC PA11-NIS or does the CD changer connection piggy-back onto the PA11?

2/ A conversation with the Infiniti dealer (Woodchester) leads me to believe that there is NO wiring or mechanical (switching?) at all behind the dash of my 2003.5 sedan, even though there is a SAT button on the dash. Is this true? If it is not true, then I could look at using the PAC AAI-NIS on the SAT line and not compromise the use of the CD changer.

As for your proposed dates, they are too soon for me. I'm only in town for Sat & half of Sunday before returning down south for the week. After Oct 6th I'm pretty open to do this install. It would be great to get some direction from someone who has already been down this road.

Thanks

1. No you have use of changer.
2. The SAT hasa receptacle, and a connector on the back of the radio. You unplug the original sat connector, leave it loose (i taped mine up) and plug one of the pa11-nis connectors in there.

You have Bose right??

As for the dates...im usually good to go on sundays.

Thanks Dirty!

Ya, I have the Bose option. I am just in the middle of reading one of those monster posts about the install of the PA11-NIS (from back in April or so). As much confusion as there was, I think I'll be good to go with this unit.

Now I'll just have to determine the quickest & least expensive route to get it in my hands!

try getting a used one on the marketplace from the states. Last I remember there was one for sale.

I got mine shipped from Pennsylvania in 4 days
get them to mark the item as a gift and under 50$ and to ship USPS and that way you dont have to pay duties
