Traction Control

Does anyone know if the traction control/VDC works on car geometry inputs (yaw etc.) or strictly on wheelspin.

I ask becuase I am considering purchasing performance wheels/tires and am wondering if the threshold at which the VDC kicks in will be affected.

Yes, I know I can always just push the button but the problem is that I don't always remember that when the mood takes me to wring the car out a little!

Speaking of which has anyone figured out/tried to set the defualt to be disengaged for both the traction control and the VDC.
