Thumbs up So… can the dead be brought back to life?

So… can the dead be brought back to life?

Well… when my paint finish is what’s dead & the doctor is Kevin of GTA in Detail… the answer is YES! A big thanks to Kevin for the awesome job he did for my sedan and it’s rough ‘Obscene Black’ paint job. Being the second owner of the car, I’m convinced that the prior owner never waxed the car but frequently ran it through the local car wash! It was great to see what Kevin could do for the car at a very reasonable price.

If you need to have your paint finish cleaned up, I would highly recommend that you contact Kevin at GTA in Detail.

Thanks for the fantastic work Kevin!

Welcome to the fold of "Believers" Bad. Ever since Kevin worked his MOJO on my severely depressed black (more like fuzzy grey) coupe at our first detailing meet, many of us have been enveloped by his GoodKarma.
I have even started practicing the art of the PC and blue bubblegum exorsicm .

Funny you ask - I woke up this morning and my lower back was swearing at me. It's amazing how quickly your body forgets. All those nights in a Tuscan Villa made me soft!

Jay - thanks for bringing the car by, hopefully that re-paint you were thinking about is a distant memory.

I will have the pics up later today. I have one that I have to show you guys though, even I did a "whoa" at this one. (Jay, I will PM you with the link to the pics and those links to threads I promised asap!)

Heya. This one was not as straightfoward as normal - Jays car had been pretty badly mistreated by the previous owner so there was a lot of deeper marring to go with the lighter swirls. That pic above looks really bad but you know it actually isn't so hard to remove the light stuff, it's the deep stuff that gets you. You can see under all the swirls in that pic there are 4-5 really deep long scratches, those were the ones that really hung on. That said, I did the following process:

Hi Temp Extreme Cut/wool pad via rotary @1500 rpm on the horizontal panels. Now normally I don't use wool, in fact I normally try to avoid the rotary all together on G's since the paint is so soft and can haze, but the PC didn't stand a chance on this one. I also did some wetsanding on some deeper scratches and on the headlights, so I needed a pretty abrasive combo to get the sanding marring out.

I followed that with Menzerna PO106FF/white pad @ 1300, then 106FF/grey pad @1200 on a few spots to clean up some haze. I sealed with Zaino Z5pro.

I wouldn't recommend a wool pad + heavy compound @1500 for most cars, the pictures illustrate why it was needed on this one but in most cases you can get away with something a little less abrasive. Cheers.

Wow, what an amazing transformation. Honestly though, you would never know that is the same hood between the before and after pics. Kevin, your work never ceases to amaze me. You've got some serious talent.
