I was thinking that too, but the ticket is like $52. Not sure if it's worth it or not. Mind you, it's her second minor infraction, that might affect her insurance.

Wayne, sorry to hear that your wife got a ticket. I guess it totally depends on the officer. Some will let hospital workers off and some won't. Too bad she wasn't that lucky this time.

Tauseef.....2nd ticket might be all the insurance will need to up your premiums for a few years.....(it is on my policy)....
...and I don't believe they take into account the size of the ticket either.....
a ticket for 10 over is an incident and has the same effect as one for 30 over.

Might pay you to hire POINTTS or some other ticket fighter..... (as well as tell her to be extra specially careful)

Smooth save Colin. I wish I was that lucky back in January of this year. 2 tickets for me. After that I bought my Passport 8500 Z50 and I've been ticketless ever since...

Yup, it did hurt...the wallet, that is. One was a 73 in a 50 zone, and the other was just because I was a complete idiot. 112 in an 80 late at night, just after being stuck for decades behind about 6 slow moving cars blocking all 3 lanes of a 3 laner. Once I broke free, I hammered the gas pedal, only to be greeted by the po-po camped out on the other side of the overpass.

And you're right - the Rav4 wasn't my partner in crime. If only! My former G sedan was my vehicle on both occasions. Aarrghhhhh

He probably knew he was a fireman in his previous life, and looked like he was headed to a fire! Here we have some red light cameras that can also send you a ticket for speeding if you go through the intersection to fast, plus a white van that sits in various locations and snaps pics of speeders plates!

I just caught this thread.......glad to hear you got off without a ticket you speed demon! It's always nice to catch a break once in a while.

Back in the summer, I was headed to a business meeting in Fredericton on a Saturday morning. I was running late as usual since I am not a morning person. I was crossing the harbor bridge in Saint John and got to the other side to pay. As soon as I paid the toll and proceded through the booth, there was a city Police with it's lights on waving me over to the side. I knew I was speeding over the bridge, but was thinking how the hell he knew that since he was on the other side of the bridge. Anyways, I pull over to the side (cursing and swearing of course) and the cop walks up to my window. I rolled down my window and he took one look at me and said "Jesus F'ing Christ".....with a big smile on his face. I know only two cops on the entire Saint John Police force.....and thank God he was one of them. He didn't know I drove a G35 so he was surprised it was me. Thankfully I knew him well from school and he let me off without a ticket. I asked him how he got me and he said that there was another city cop hiding at the start of the bridge and radio'ed ahead to him. He told me I was doing 112 in a 70.

Every once in awhile, it's nice to get a break.
