Messed up tire wear.

Threw the winter tires on today and was I in for a surprise looking at the summer rubber. I probably should've kept an eye on it but wow...

Scalloped rears and some crazy inside wear on the fronts...odd thing is that the inside wear is so extreme yet there's no visible neg camber. Bizarre on a completely stock car.

At least you got the winter rubber to get you through the winter. Then it's gonna be time for some new rubber.

LOL... those don't owe you anything.

I just took mine off today as well & was surprised at how unbelieveably even the PS2s have worn.
There's only about 2/32nds left on them & No inner wear or scalloping at all

LOL, Shane, Those babies look good for your next trip down the 1/4 mile..

Seriously, tho, that's the same kind of bad tire wear my brother ended up with for about 30k kilometers......after 2 wheel alignments and 2 sets of rubber.
Nissan knew that there was an issue (probably the same as the issue on the Z's) and refused to do anything except tell him to get another wheel alignment!!!

He now drives an Accord...

Okay here we go again.

Shane, I know all about it. What you're seeing isn't unusual. Make sure you get your alignments every 6km.

Holy, those tires don't owe you anything. They have more wear than mine.

I've got about 26k kms on these tires. I think I'll go with Toyo T1Rs in the spring.

26k without an alignment? LOL, you're lucky they still hold air.

Why not PS2?

That is so not normal to have to get an alignment that often. I put 24,000+ on our car a year, that is ridiculous to get an alignment every 6k..Thats like getting an alignment at every oil change . I usually get an alignment every few years when it is time to replace the tires (when I keep a car that long )

I agree 6K sounds a little excessive, but for some minimalist milage types (Deane ) it's still only once a year.
I get mine done every spring regardless of klicks, b4 the fun season & it's always out a little.

IIRC... At one of our meets, Jerry mentioning that he thought the compression rods were part of the cause.

Suspension revisions one area I'm anxious to investigate on the 2nd Gen.

That's what Jerry mentioned to Terry (my bro).....and in his case, the re-alignments didn't make any difference to service.....the tires still weren't aligned properly and wore out very quickly. (howling in the process)....

Yeah, we've talked about it before. Any suggestions or help is welcome. After fighting with dealer, Infiniti blah blah (no help) I realize the only way to keep this car half normal is excessive alignments. I let it go 8k this time and the right front is now baked on the inside. Mine was aligned at 500km, 12k, again at 15k after the new suspension goodies and now have 23k. Right front is toast from inside wear.

The coupe seems to be the victim for some reason.

I'm with you on that one.

Also I haven't talked to them about the compression rods. As I mentioned before my service manager went to bat with Infiniti concerning inside wear as a chronic problem and was told to keep his ***** shut.

Do you remember what your toe setting is on the front?

FWIW...
On my previous set of tires I was getting inner wear & feathering with sedan spec toe (0.04).
I changed it to just positive from zero (0.01)
It has made a big difference.
I'm getting a nicely ballanced wear now.

I'm having difficulty understanding the printout. There are so many boxes with toe it's hard to read this thing. I think the front actual is .03. I think min spec is .00 and max is .04
There is a toe setting for the rear?? Says actual is .04 and min is .00 max .11

So with your setting it will carve nicely but want to wander slightly going straight, right?
