planning to buy winter tires soon. considering the dunlop grapics, getting them for $165/tires installed on my 17's. any suggestions?

Its a decent but not great tire. I bought Yokohama Guardex back when they came out and thought they were excellent. When they wore out I replaced them with Graspics, noticeably worse ice traction although still decent. Handling was better than the Guardex.

 

check out the reviews at tirerack.com - I'm sure there's lots of info there on those.

 

there is the old dunlop graspics which were D1's compared to the newer ones D2's make sure you know which comment you are reading for a comparable review of the proper time.

 

I didn't realize they had changed. My comments were from tires I bought in Fall of 2004
