Thnx for all your input guys. Like many have said, if it said on my license that I should be wearing glasses, then I should be wearing glasses. The law is black and white, no excuses. The only reason why I was so down about this incident was because in some sense, I felt like I was robbed $220. I was driving below the speed limit, and was very cautious cause I'm aware there are many student pedestrians at night in Waterloo. It seriously felt like he was trying to find every reason he could to ticket me. My buddy who came out to help me drive my car home stood on the sidewalk cus the officer who pulled me over refused to talk to him. All he said to my friend was "Get out of the road before you get hit." Then my friend stood out in the cold and waited. My friend said the cop was just flipping thorugh his manual, seems like he was trying to ticket me for all that he could find in the book. Then other police cars dropped by, and they were just chatting and laughing, taking up BOTH lane on the street. Leaving other travelling cars no choice but to go around them on the lanes of opposite direction. In the end, when the tow truck came, and I finally had the chance to speak to the officer directly (I was not given permission to step out of my car earlier, so I didn't). I asked the officer if my friend (the one waiting in the cold) could drive my vehicle home for me. He replied with a question, asking how long have I planned to have my friend drive my vehicle home (implying that the tow truck was already here, and that it was my fault he called the tow truck for nothing...I mean WTF...my friend wanted to talk to him and all he said was "Get off the road before you get hit.") Just bec he is the authority, does not mean he can disrespect my friend like that. Forget my tickets, I simply can't stand people who don't show others respect simply bec they think THEY CAN.

but...sigh...thank you all for your feedback and advice...it's really warming to know that everyone on this forum is so supportive

Wow, that cop was really acting like a total jerk off......and there is no need for it whatsoever. You know when you see him flipping through his manual that you are gonna get nailed. It's a shame that there are officers the feel the need to power trip on someone like that. It's unfortunate what happened, but I would still pay the fines and simply move on.

Yes, no question the cop was out for blood. Shame that you had to be there at that time to meet up with him.
