Ian, I don't think " up my sleeve" is one of the prescribed placements points under the act. But I am very curious. Does it involve velcro?

Here ya go...
No more ugly wart (bracket) on the bumper.
It was especially bad on the Z because it covered part of the kidneys & stuck out over the lower grill as well.
The material is reflective, so it shows up just like a normal plate at night.
.(ignore the dirty car )

Looks great, is that a sticker? How's the adhesive? My only concern would be peeling or some one trying to rip it off. Looks great though!

Believe me there is no way this will peel off.

You've no doubt seen all the graphic signage on trucks/ busses etc.
This is one of several different matierials that they use.
This one is reflective & is as tough as nails.

It's a little tricky to apply, there's very little give (stretch).
& it's *real* easy to trap air bubbles.

Very cool, I never would even thought of that. That is one of the nicest subtle things I have seen done to a car. Mad props for even thinking of something like that.

hmm, looks like an interesting solution! ...but at the same time though, would that count as "counterfeit" plates? even though you own the original plates and the the plate numbers are correct.

It's a grey area for sure, but the HTA doesn't specify directly...
& I don't see any copyright.
Property of the Crown
(2) Every number plate is the property of the Crown and shall be returned to the Ministry when required by the Ministry. 1999, c. 12, Sched. R, s. 5 (1).
(3) For the purpose of subsection (2),

“number plate” includes,
(a) a number plate bearing a requested number,
(b) evidence of validation,
(c) a permit,
(d) a CAVR cab card, and
(e) an IRP cab card issued by the Ministry. 1999, c. 12, Sched. R, s. 5 (1).

i wasn't really talking about copyright, but rather using something that wasn't produced by the minstry in place of the plates. But it's a grey area for sure (that sounds wierd...for sure maybe haha).

but it's definitely better than having nothing there at all! Cops probably won't even notice it's not a real plate!

Very cool Ian. Pretty innovative and as innocuous as you could make. I hope John Law likes it too.

Trimline that does our 3M bras here also is part of a sign company that works with a lot of that stuff for vehicle and transit advertising. Same guy does work on both.
