Winter Wonderland

After the great winter we had last year in Edmonton, we sure are paying for it this year. Drive down to Calgary and no snow. Up here it just won't quit. It warms up and the streets are a filthy slushy mess. I much prefer a little colder so the streets stay cleaner. Just when the roads start to dry up a bit, it snows just enough to make it messy all over again. It is times like this when I wish I lived in Scottsdale. Cars are always clean down there. Rant.....................

^Seems to be a harsh start for you guys so far. Sorry to hear that.

I don't envy anyone subject to harsh conditions as I know we've a few here.
About two weeks ago we had a couple of dumps but fortunately it left soon after. Last year we got off fairly light too but I'm sure we'll get the real hit soon enough however.

Sounds like you're well in a position to make that move Sam, at least for the snowbird thing. You've referred to having friends there which would make it that much easier.

At some point I might consider renting a place somewhere around Georgia but that's still a number of years away.

Well I appreciate the warm weather but I hear you regarding the slush. I'm planning to wash the salt off the car tonight and I'll take the dirt road home. There shouldn't be any salt on it and hopefully the car will just get coated with a protective coat of snow and mud.

+1......sorry to hear of your bad luck out there.....from the news I must say that you guys are getting hit unusually hard one way or other....

We in the central and east are the benefactors of such weird weather patterns, having above normal temps and little precip.

LOL, while some hate El Nino and La Nina, I'd like to shake their hands......

Hope things improve for you out there.........

C.

Gave up the ATV about 3 years ago too.

All that stuff was getting in the way of my running. May be back to it though if I'm unable to get healed- 3 months now no running no progress.

You got that right, telegramsam. There has been no snow (well, no new snow) in Calgary. The only snow left on my cul-de-sac is a bunch of surface ice which doesn't seem to go away, despite the above zero temperatures. It's the only thing keeping me from taking my Z for a spin. The roads to my suburb are bare, but once you get to some of the side streets there are still icy patches, enough to prevent me from even making safely up or down my street.

It would be nice to have a "White Christmas", but then again, I'm not really complaining.

I don't have one. The old man does, 600 Polaris, at least I think he still does, he might have upgraded. I go back home once every 3-4 years and try my best not to wreck it.

Its not too bad around Sylvan I guess were 1/2 way between you guys so we get abit of snow with some warm weather too boot. I was going to pull the G out and take it to RedDeer to get an E-manage put in but after looking at the alley where my car is parked I doubt I would get it out with my bald tires. The hiways are clear though.
