Happy with Service, finally!
Happy with Service, finally!
Hey guys:
After two years of owning and maintaining the G, I think I finally found a service department that I like and I am satisfied with (Knock on wood!). I'm usually travelling, and all the common problems with the G has happened to us (Gas Tank Gauge, window motor, window grease, TPS sensor, Head unit, etc...) so my wife usually has to take it in.
I've never had an issue getting a loaner (even on short notice), they explain everything to you, never had to hassle over warranty work, they do a thorough job, the car is always washed and a quick interior detail (I know, some of you guys hate the dealership washing the car, because of swirls, but I really could care sometimes, saves me the trouble!), and they really worry about my wife safety (they take the time to go over the new features in the loaners, make sure she gets a car with winter tires on it, etc).
I've been to Yorkville (post Jerry, During Jerry's reign was awesome) Agincourt, Alta, and some Nissan dealership I can't remember, and each time, it was a hassle to get a loaner (unless you book like 3 weeks in advanced), warranty work was always a fight, and a whole bunch of other crap I don't want to get into.
But this week, I was really impressed. The G started idling really hard, to the point the car was shaking. It felt like I had a small block V8 with stupidly aggressive cams and straight pipes... it had that much rumble to it. The throttle tip in was horrible, and there was obviously a lack of power to it. I was pretty sure a cylnder wasn't firing, so I we brought the car in. We got a loaner right away, we got a call back 5 hours later, turns out cylinder 2 wasn't firing because of failed ignition coil. They fixed it, no hassle, under warranty, and everything went smoothly without a hitch.
The last few experiences at this dealership was just as great. So i thought I'd let you guys know, if you live around the Steeles and Yonge area, you might want to give it a try.

Sorry guys. I tend to do that sometimes when I'm excited about something new. I leave out important parts of information. If you ask my wife, I still haven't officially proposed to her yet. The first time I asked her to marry me, I just blurted out "yeah, by this year, we'd be married anyways". The second time (yes, i there was a re-do when I got the ring), I just sort of... handed her a box with the ring in it and didn't ask.

That's the dealership. I'm dealing with a guy named Karim. Nice dude.
And one extra thing I like about this dealership, it seems like they really want your business. From the service manager, to the advisor, to the sales guys, they all seem to want you to step into another Infiniti, and keep telling you "hey, what about an 07?" or "check out what's happening with the 08 coupes".
I just really like companies that want to do business.

Well that's a nice change.
Have previously heard no good news about those guys. Including the insulting dumbass sales doof that I "negotiated" with. That was a while ago. Times have changed? Good stuff.

Karim? Must be new. I always go to this dealership for service as they are the closest to me and they seemed to have gone through quite a few people.
I have no complaints but no praise either.
I don't think too many people on this forum go to this dealership so I don't know what they are like when faced with complicated issues.

That's a great idea , Godmans......tho I'm going to have to sort out a few to make room for more important threads.
Let me think on that and I'll work on it this week.....

I read of some negative things about this dealership too. Nevertheless, I actually went ahead and bought my car from them. Personally, I had an excellent purchase experience. I don't know about their entire sales team but I dealt with a couple of guys named Dino and Francis on the used-car side of their business. Both were top-notch and very professional. They knew their product well, treated me respectfully, took their time to familiarize me with the car, and gave me a really fair deal in the end.
I must admit though I had been there on a prior occasion and dealt with some other guy who gave me that greasy feeling car salesmen are so famous for.
