Re: Snow Tires Help for sedan

Steelcase Tires and Mags in Markham has a package for 16" steelies and toyo winters for 900 + tax... i was thinking of this for my Z but changed my mind - still a great deal though IMO if you want steelies

Paid $1000 last year at Firestone for Blizzaks and steel rims(215/60/16 LM22's.)
I went to the one at Sheppard and Brimley. Its in the same plaza as Wheels Direct.

Re: Snow Tires Help for sedan

I've heard that Alpins work well on FWD cars, but some complain about them on RWD, especially in deeper snow. I'm a Blizzak fan myself, and the LM-22 is really good on dry roads as well (but they wear out quickly).

Re: Snow Tires Help for sedan

I am using Pilot Alpin on 330i, and LM-22 on my G35. Both perform very well. And I assume Arctic Alpin should perform better than Pilot. in snow condition

I was quoted $1030.40 everything in for Pirelli 210 winters on 215/60/16 blackies/steelies (whatever u wanna call them) at Green Bay Tire.

Supposedly the Pirelli's are more quiet and better handling than the Artic Alpin's.

Re: Snow Tires Help for sedan

thanks for all you guys' info... I ended up getting the Toyo OBSERVE G-02 plus with 16" steelies at Steelcase. The price was $850 + tax. Piece of advice if you are planning to get it from them... GO THERE EARLY!!! go before 10 or else you'll have to wait there at least 2 hrs!!!

meanwhile.. I can't wait to test the tires on snow!!!

Re: Snow Tires Help for sedan

sljer, i have the same setup as yours. the handling on dry and wet panyment is lacking on that department as most snow tires are. the vcd goes on everytime i try to accerlate and change lanes at the same time(fish tails). handling on curvy road ain't too great. i got them three weeks ago, hopefully they are better in the snow. i got everything for $900 flat.

Re: Snow Tires Help for sedan

Sorry Guys,

I must correct myself as I had said earlier that I bought LM-22's. That is incorrect. I have WS-50's on 16" steelies. I must have been asleep at the keyboard that day!!!

Anyone else have any experience with the Toyo Observe G-02's? Still thinking of getting them.

$959 everything in with 215/60/16 steelies.
