Inconsiderate Drivers

It was a great day out so I'm out in the G. I'm at the parking lot sitting in the car outside the bank today signing some cheques. A woman drives up on my passenger side and parks very close to me (not centred in her lane) even though there are other open spaces. She does exactly what was going on in my mind as I realized she is too close. The driver door opens just as you would with plenty of space. Wham. I stretch over and bang on the passenger glass and then jump out of the car. By this time she is walking away trying to ignore me as I'm looking at my door. I say hey and she replies from about 100 feet away "there's no damage, I have door guards" as she hustles away from me. No apology or recognition she was wrong in using my car door as a door stop.

Fortunately there was no damage and I had to suffice with leaving a note on her car asking her to be more considerate of other peoples property.

She needs to learn if you weren't' such a nice guy, her car might not have looked so good when you left.

Yes it did. I was actually shocked to not at least have an apology.

Geez RBull, that does surely suck! However, as inconsiderate as this woman was, you should be thankful there is no damage, as I have a feeling she would never have paid for it.

I've had people park very closely to me all the time. I always park in a way that no one can possibly encroach on my buffer space, unless they were doing it on purpose. Low and behold, I get surrounded like the popular kid in class.

And I now just found a deep scratch on the side of my car that looks ridiculously intentional! It appears these are the kinds of things us car-caring people have to live with.

Sorry to hear that Deane. Those things happen too often for me, so now if there's room and spots far away, I park there to avoid such ignorance.
It costs me a few extra steps but it sure cuts down on body damage and 'stress'.
I'm glad you avoided any damage..... Dings like that are a constant reminder of rudeness and carelessness and can be really upsetting every time you look at your ride.

All to familiar... It really amazes me. If an accident, okay, I understand, now just pay to fix (if damage), but most people just fling open their door like there isn't a car anywhere near.

What's even worse is when someone taps anothers cars front/rear end when backing into or pulling into a parking spot and just drive off.

Damn witch...........

I know it's difficult to do without becoming a raging wild man but had there
been the slightest ding in your car demand to see her ID and insurance.
That way you can make a claim and maybe, just maybe she would have
learned a lesson. Screwing with her car won't get yours fixed and it very
well could get you in trouble. Yea, I'd go nuts too...........................!!

I had that happen to me the other night. I decided to back into a spot for the evening. Low and behold, I find the next day that someone in a truck decided to use my front bumper as a post. I know it was a truck/SUV because the scrape is on top of the bumper just above the licence plate.

Happy 2007!!!!

Go steal 4 medium sized traffic cones and put them in your trunk. Park in the middle of three spaces and put two cones in the front of the space on either side of you.

PS: be sure they say something like "water dept" or "gas dept" on them, then no one will think you did it.

Not saying that u will do something bad like that, but people need to realize that if they do wrong upon somone's car....it may be possible that that same person will do something to your car as u walk away....

glad there was no damage...

Wow, sorry to hear about that Deane. It's hard to imagine someone that inconsiderate.......to the point where she knew that she hit your door but kept walking away and ignoring you. Bullsh!t like that just makes my blood boil. Kudos to you for keep your cool, I think I may of chased after her and had some words. I hate to say it, but I find women in general are the absolute worst for this kind of stuff.

On the positive side, thankfullly there wasn't any damage.
