Bill our problem here is the winds. Heck I only have a foot or so of snow in my yard. We don't get an abnormal amount of snow, it's the way the winds keep blowing it around.
Our winters are not too bad until Lake Huron starts to freeze up, then once that happens the snow + winds = lots of drifting + whiteouts. Our community is stuated along the shore of Lake Huron. The lake is frozen now for about a mile out, and since it started freezing that is when our weather deteriotes. Straight across the lake is about 80 miles, so the winds can really pick up speed and moisture (snow). Last winter was mild enough that the lake never really froze so we had a good winter.

Thanks Colin.

Good to hear that they are safe and sound! I'll keep my fingers crossed in hopes that the road conditions get better soon so you can see your Daughter and Grand Daughter before your trip!

Thanks Chico, it's not that bad , at least it's not as bad as it used to be, years ago. Last winter I used to worry about my wife when she had a 1 hour drive to Owen Sound a couple days a week for work. She put the X to good use last winter.

I just ran a few errands this afternoon, so I took the camera. I parked on the shoulder. This pic is on one of our main roads through town by the harbour (Colin & Ian would know the road) This is one of our better days this week. But most of our winter so far has been pretty good.

Good to hear all is well wayne. I find that just sharing a concern with my on line friends here helps me feel better. It makes me feel like I have the power to do something about a situation. Glad to be part of a fantastic support group. Yeah G35DRIVER.COM CANADA

wow! you really get some good winters. I guess I should stop complaining about our winter in the GTA. We're nowhere close to that, plus you have less traffic, cleaner air, and all the fun in clean white snow.

Thanks Wayne, I will keep that in mind, just don't blame me if I bring any bad luck! I've been known to have some pretty bad cold spells.

Well, I was hoping on seeing my daughter and Grandaughter sometime today before we went south, but the roads were closed again today .

Now I just hope I can get out of this whiteness for a couple of weeks. If the roads are closed tomorrow I will be taking every little sideroad until I can escape from the land of Horizontal Snow to get to the Airport.

Ian, save a seat in the plane for us we are coming.

Wow, good luck with getting seeing your daughter and Grandaughter Wayne. All the best with the weather and here's hoping you don't have to resort to a sideroad.

I like the road rage smiley.

Ian & Wayne, I hope you both have a great trip in Mexico! Stay safe, enjoy the sun, and most importantly, have a cerveza for me!
